I hadn’t seen it until late last night on some random twitter or other news report either, the media buried it. Every video was of Magic either answering Plaschke’s question, or the bit where he said he’d resign if we didn’t land anyone. Like I said I couldn’t even find the video of the quote, and it was a really good quote, to see/hear him say it was very reassuring, he seemed incredibly calm and genuine.
There's no pressure on us to trade for Kawhi. If you're the Lakers either you land big fish this summer or you wait it out unt next summer. If we dont land big fish, why blow it up for Kawhi? We're going to be a Playoff team at best, not a contender, and that's unlikely to change if we make a big trade for Kawhi. And if we do land big fish, then what pressure is there for us to get Kawhi? We'd already have two big fish and wouldnt be desperate for a third. So what pressure do we have now to make a deal?
How many times have we heard PG is seriously considering OKC? Then the next day he's guaranteed to LA. Now he's unsure again. This is just the media being desperate. It's pretty obvious these guys have made up their minds, but ESPN has to keep us clicking at something.
yeah pretty annoying how the media is trying to create leverage against the Lakers so they cough up their assets Keep an eye out for a team like the Wizards that could make a play for Kawhi much like the Thunder did last year....they could offer Otto Porter and picks for Kawhi...or Bradley Beal for Kawhi. John Wall, Bradley Beal and Kawhi Leonard? That team is a contender in the East...
Not sure you are understanding what im saying. Or maybe i didnt express myself correctly. Im CONCERNED that the lakers may get desperate and gut the team if they strike out. If this is their pov, than not landing PG or lebron would force them to trade. Hence, the leverage/pressure I spoke about. I did just see that Magic said he won't act out of desperation or make a move just to make one so it makes this discussion unnecessary.. That being said, lebron doesn't seem to want to come to the lakers without another guy. The pressure of losing lebron puts the lakers in a low leverage situation if they strike out with PG. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ting-los-angeles-lakers-acquire-kawhi-leonard
There's been no actual indication LeBron wouldn't come alone and in fact there's so much positivity about and around him coming, some say he'll be here alone if he has to. Windhorst said it was better than 50/50 he ends up in LA without anyone else. I understand what you're saying, it's just not really a concern. This recent report is transparent SA posturing. I'm not saying they'll hand us Kawhi, I'm just saying the Lakers aren't going to blow up the team unless it works for them. This FO has been adamant all summer that they're not going to rush these moves. Why would that stop now?
yeah, was on my phone earlier so i couldn't elaborate: if taken as truth, the espn article was terrifying. but it certainly did seem to serve one team more than others to have that info out at this time. if i'm the lakers, i make no more calls on leonard, period-presuming i've made a competitive offer. i'm obviously quite concerned that the leonard situation and the george situation are mutual referendums. but it's very clear SA has my same concern (in reverse). in some ways, it seems everything hinges on george, but in truth, as always, everything hinges on lebron. he could be the only guy that signs with la this summer, and it's the ultimate win. because by the trade deadline, we'd have another star, almost guaranteed. daryl morey didn't get chris paul. harden did. lebron can get anyone, and the lakers have the assets. consume a phallus, SA. consume a phallus, OKC. edit: just occurred to me that i should have posted this in the kawhi thread.
“Consume a phallus”, abeer I’m sorry that I only have one like to give you, if I could I’d give more.
This topic has turned into something that's hard to swallow...it's really phoull... ...ick. That being said, PG grow some balls, stop floppin back and forth and stop being...well I'll let your brodie, Russ, say it... Spoiler: Rated PG-13
Yuuuup. Every time I read how “legitimate” the chances of him re-signing in OKC are, I’m just over here like...
f*** this guy , he's going to pull a Griezmann on us , filming his decision to stay with Westbrick because he's a p****
Can someone please explain to me what so appealing about Oklahoma City because I think George is on crack
I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but these kind of reports sure feel like PG getting it on the record that he’s not guaranteed for the Lakers so there’s no chance of shenanigans being called when he signs with LA. I could be wrong. (But I’m not.)
didn't you see OKC's performance in the playoffs? Any good player would pause before leaving that team for his hometown.
That’s a little harsh when the guy hasn’t announced any decision yet, isn’t it? What makes you think he’s not coming here? Because WojSPN said so?
