What if we traded "this and that" and he still left us? It was a tough call but a right one (waiting a year). Plus Pacers GM is a d***.

Has a better "ring" to it than STAY.

Btw, this thread is now rated PG-13 due to suggestive material too strong for 13 year old looking Sam Presti to handle.

Psycho analyzing this I think this means he's going back to OKC now, haha.

His mom, girlfriend, fans in LA all want him to come home.... and he's talking about what's right for YOU

Everyone calls this corny, but honestly it sounds fine to me. If that's the whole script, it seems like it's just some kind of opening they had/have planned for the meeting. It's a little fluffy, but I've seen/heard worse (#DONTSTAY).

This 3 part "decision, PG edition" is setting the narrative for him to come to LA.

I can anticipate either Part 1 or Part 2 discussing heavily about how it's important to him to be home with his family, where he wants to raise his kids in the environment he grew up in, his mom being in a wheelchair and him wanting to be home to be closer to her, etc. The whole "family" narrative will be used so the public perception is to not totally hate him for making a decision that's for the best interest of his family.

Otherwise, I don't even understand how a 3 part series would work if he plans to choose OKC. They run the "family" narrative....and then when part 3 airs, he says "playing in OKC is more important to me than my family, which is why I've decided to stay with the Oklahoma Westbrooks?"

Just as easily as the special can be a way for PG not to look the bad guy in explaining to OKC (fans, teammates, ownership) how he struggled with the decision and ultimately chose LA...putting on my devil's horns for a bit, you can also flip the narrative in that he doesn't want to play the bad guy and needs this special to explain to LA (fans, extended family and Lakers ownership) how this was a tough choice and ultimately he thinks its best to stay in Okc.

Part 2 will be interesting in that it will detail his off-court pursuits...it could be LA-market driven by pushing shoes and video games and the such, or it could be OKC driven by venturing out to the great outdoors and exploring the many fishing options he has there.

Anyways, if I had my choice and all things were equal (both were free agents and no trade was necessary), I would go with Kawhi 10 times out of 10 over PG.

And that concludes my attempt at shielding myself from possible PG disappointment this summer.

I agree, nothing lost by that except they have to dump that plan if they had not already. Or maybe it never made it to approval stage even. It was just a script and it may have been an intern's idea for all we know, Maj/Rob can laugh it off with PG when they meet with him. It read like a greeting card.
