If I am Boston, I want Tatum over Brown; that includes Kyrie. Kyrie in San Antonio? I wouldn't trust he extends there when he is an FA...

Keep in mind Pop is on his way out. He has maybe a year or two max left of coaching in the NBA. Does he really care so much about an old rivalry that he'd advocate trading away from us just to give us a finger on the way out? I don't know. And like you said, Pop isn't the GM, Buford is. He's too dumb to take a worse deal just to spite us.

I'm not saying we wouldn't have to give up a lot. For us to get what we want, we're going to have to sacrifice so many of these kids, maybe all of them.

Someone photoshop Pelinka on Thanos. "It cost everything."

I wouldn’t want to deal Tatum either but if I’m the Spurs I gotta insist on getting him.

Spurs reportedly don’t want Lonzo though. Would have to be some combination of BI, Kuz, Hart, Deng, or maybe s&t Randle.

I’m halfway there with you. I said Pop is on the way out as well, the Spurs dynasty is almost over, there’s no Tim Duncan coming. Plus again, Pop isn’t the GM, Buford is, and I have to hope he’s a more reasonable man.

Being vocal or adamant hasn't been his forte so tis speak in his career. Not sure we're going to get that

Gregg Popovich is a whining, temperamental, PMS, snatch. Always has been, always will be. Popovich doesn't exist without Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan allowed him to be the b**** he is and everyone had to fall in line. Kawhi is proving he is sick of his BS and Aldridge did the same before. Pop holds grudges. He was whining about the Pau Gasol trade, he whines about anything that the Lakers did that one up'd him. He b****es about politics, the a-hole b****es about everything. Kawhi would have to scare every team the Spurs try to trade him to with I am signing with the Lakers in the off season. Otherwise, that ahole won't trade him to LA.

That's my point. Even if Kawhi is telling them he needs to be that guy when its all said and done.

wow I don't know about all that.

He's a great coach who has made a career out of having great players but knowing how to work with them and communicate with them like Phil did to a certain extent. He has said much like Kerr has when coaching the Warriors its all the players. He just sits on the bench

Coach Pop is not the problem with the Spurs

i somewhat agree. but pop is an old school guy and even if he's on his way out, he'd probably still do anything he can to keep the lakers from rising back up to the top

hopefully buford isn't like that ****bag kevin pritchard but to be honest, i really don't think anyone wants to see the lakers at the top again. no one wants the warriors to keep winning but if that means the lakers start winning again, hell no

    A couple of points:

    - I don’t think it’s Lakers or nothing for Kawhi, he would be happy going to the Knicks... the Knicks guys. He just wants a big market. It’s a pipe dream for everyone who is clamouring for him to say lakers or nothing - that would be stupid of him to cut that down to only one team.

    - I’m not convinced he isn’t leveraging this for a supermax. Threatening to leave before a meeting with Pop via a leak in the back channels is an easy way to say I want to stay but pay me.

    - If they do look to trade him, I think Boston is most likely. Ainge wouldn’t hesitate to trade Kyrie if he had too. He has been trying to get one of the top 5 players in the league for a while. Rozier, Hayward, Kawhi, Tatum is a heck of rotation. Kyrie, Brown, 2 firsts blows everyone’s trade offers out of the water but they’ll probably start with Brown, Rozier, Morris, 2 firsts. This gets a great package back and sends Kawhi east and not to a historical rival.

    - Jerry West will be recognised as the best front office ever I the clippers get Lebron and Kawhi... could you imagine that?

Aldridge credits Pop for turning his mindset around and why he has wanted to stay with the Spurs after wanting to leave last summer after his sit down with Pop. As for Kawhi, everyone is different. Can't win them all.

If you total up all the unhappy players Coach Pop has had with those that love him and respect him that have gone on to be great coaches. The score is lop sided in favor of Coach Pop.

Again I'm not making this Coach Pop vs. Kawhi and who is right. Just Pop is not the problem. Trusting the Spurs medical staff and not getting all the support from the FO on these issues is the problem to Kawhi and his people.

Imagine if Cavs trade #8, Love, George Hill and a first for Kawhi, Green and Gasol/Mills. Lebron stays in Cleveland. PG stays in OKC and we have rap wars Kuzma strikes back next offseason when we miss the playoffs again...

I am still angry after the Chris Paul debacle. I blame all these a-holes for letting that happen. Eff him, eff Dan Gilbert and Mark Cuban. And I hope David Stern chokes on a (bleep). I hope they burn.

I don’t believe that would happen, but holy mother of ****, that would be an awful outcome.

Still Cleveland could put a decent package together we all know Spurs love them some George Hill, plus love, #8 and they get to dump mills or Gasol?

This is what we pay magic and rob for. To do what needs to be done and get one turkey in the hand rather than chasing two in the bush.
