    I think this is exactly why the news broke now. This was Kawhi's people saying: "get your best deal here while you can."

    You're right our 2019 pick might not hold as much weight. That's good news for Boston and Philly and the Clippers in the lottery right now.

    OKC needed to trade for PG and Melo to get Russ to sign his pending extension.

    Kyrie will be in that same situation and put SA and NY as locations he wanted to be traded to when he make a short list for the Cavs.

    But Ainge hasnt ever been rash... He's way too methodical, so I still think LA bags our guy.

    If Kawhi is on board and Spurs want too much.. I sign and trade Randle, and trade Deng at the deadline or next off season where he'll have a year left on his contract.

    Randle (S&T) + Kuz + 2018 1st + 2020 1st

    Or

    BI + Deng + 2018 1st + 2020 1st

    Nothing more, AND Kawhi has to agree to an extension with us.

    Man I swear I don’t wanna turn loose of BI. But if it lands us Leonard, you gotta do it. I’d much rather give up Lonzo + Randle in a sign and trade, but that’s probably pipe.

    Spurs can have whoever they want from me. If it gets us Lebron/PG/Kawhi, take the whole damn team. This is a scenario you have to absolutely nuke the team, if that’s what it takes to get it done.

    This is what Magic/Rob were brought here for. We have 3 big time fish circling in the water, get them all on the boat by any means necessary.

    Or 2019 plan....

    My thoughts on what we'd be giving up.... I have to admit I hadn't seriously considered the possibility off getting Kawhi, PG and Labron as a real possiblitly. I wouldn't give up the youngsters for Labron, PG and Jordan, but Kawhi is on a different stratosphere.

    I'm only really concerned with losing Lonzo, Kuz, BI, Randle, and Hart. Draft picks at this point don't matter to me much.

    So with that said, I don't want to lose more than 2 of those 5 in a trade for Kawhi, and above that, they don't get both BI AND Kuz as part of the trade. I'm still weary of Kahi's injury and I think the Lakers should be weary too

    There is no way to make me think that Spurs would do a Kawhi deal with LA. People say they might if we have the best deal. And I think there is no way they take Deng, that's an insult.

    A year playing with the C-Bags dominating the East utterly would probably get him to stay in Boston.

    As mentioned, Spurs know we can't sign him next summer after making moves for LBJ/+1

    No matter what Kawhi says about not resigning anywhere but for the Lakers, the Bags would take that chance. They would be a top 3 contender and a real threat for the title.

    An S&T with Jules AND picks AND Kuz & Hart, NO Deng, then maybe. Has to look crazy good for Pop and RC to bite.

    PG and Lebron could make awesome money off the court if they both took a 3.7 mill pay cut each say if we stretch Deng.

    Stephen A. brought up a good point regarding what if the Lakers could pull off LeBron and Kawhi and PG. He said that Kawhi and Lebron don’t have mamba like mentality, but that PG does. I don’t know that I agree because I kind of felt that PG doesn't either. In any event his point is that all 3 would be needed because Kawhi and LeBron are too passive and would need PG to make it work.
