Kawhi holds all the leverage. If he tells everyone, it's Lakers now or Lakers in a year, choices for Spurs are limited.

And then, you went and made it about LeBron.

to what indy did. trade him anywhere but where he wants to go.

    LA Leverages.

i wish the media buzz was stronger on PG to LA right now (instead of all the press about staying in OKC). bad timing, as it makes indy and okc both look smart.

    No.

    Absolutely not.

    Just no.

Ingram for me is untouchable under any circumstance. However, I recognize that Magic made it clear that no one is untouchable in their plans.

Maybe wishful thinking but I think one thing working in our favor might be that Kawhi is making the Spurs out to be the bad guys here. The narrative is that he wants out because he feels betrayed by them. While the extent of the “betrayal” might be in question, the reality doesn’t matter. It’s just not a good look for their organization when their superstar is making those claims. It would have to make future free agent prospects think twice.

Making things right by complying with Kawhi’s requests (reasonably) might be a good move for their reputation as they head into a rebuild.

That’s why I said I hope we get one. We’d be fortunate to get even one. People are going all wild talking PG, LeBron, and Kawhi. Man, we’d be lucky to even lure PG here and re-sign Randle for a reasonable price. I’m not getting my hopes up again like last draft day with PG. If we did get 2 stars though, that’s a grand slam. If we got 3, that’s the greatest Laker offseason I will have ever seen.

Not sure how much leverage he has. If Lebron and PG13 want to come here, we won't be able to sign Kawhi. No way the Lakers turn one of PG or Lebron down in the hopes we can sign Kawhi next summer wherever he lands.

Another CyberX quote. I'm still not 100% sure how/why he's an insider, but I'll post his stuff here.

Where there's smoke, there is fire; I think he is moved before the end of the month, that's my prediction.

he's been right about a lot of stuff over time. seems to have la connections in addition to houston.

and man, if another big timer goes to the clippers whilst we're holding our big sacks of cash...

yeah, i think by the time the draft is over, he's gone. tbh, the spurs have probably been considering what they'd take for a while now. everyone will make their pitches in the next few days, and they'd decide. no sense dragging it on all summer when you know the endgame.
