Oh it's like that...dude's llllllumbar turns into a taillllll at any sign of adversity. This betrayal, after I publicly state my love for dude this morning. I'm just going to further steer Ox in your direction, Judas. Hey Ox, you know why he goes by sirronstuff? Cause dude stuffs his drawers with used tampons...I know you see red, so pack some heat and sear on! Plus, Ox don't want any part of my brand of bulls***.
I am thinking he will become a casualty of our two-max plan. Fortunately, we have his BIRD Rights, so I am hoping there is a possibility we can work out an S&T.
I agree. I think there's a good chance Julius ends up a casualty which would be very disappointing and bittersweet. However, hard to argue with results if we can nab George and LeBron.
Can't help but think we haven't seen our guys, Julius included in the playoffs. I would love to see what Julius looks like then when he and others/competition play it all out with all the pressure.
Me too, I thought about it this morning. What an albatross that contract is. Thanks for that parting gift Jim and Mitch.
Well, Randle will only possibly not be retained IF we don't trade Deng and that's only assuming we sign PG&Lebron. I think there's a solid chance we will be able to ship Deng out with only two years left. If you're a team in a rebuild you can acquire some picks that can help in the next 3 drafts, this year included. Is 25,47,Zu, and two future 1sts enough?
Isn't there some loophole that says you can go over the cap to resign your own Player..? If we sign LBJ & PG first while remaining under the cap, can't we then still sign Randle & go over the cap..? Not 100% sure how it works. I just know both SA & GS have done this to add key players recently.
...or Randle will sign for a reasonable contract thinking he has a chance to play on a team with both George and James with potential for deep playoff runs that could culminate in Finals appearances. That and staying with teammates he's grown up with, a coach who has helped him mature as a player and person? Money or glory?
Money. Young guys with family go for the green... and i don't blame them. He'll get an absurd offer that just can't be turned down. I think he would sign for less with us (like 4-5 millions over 5 years) but we won't match a crazy number.
Im starting to get the sense that Jules will be used in an elaborative S&T somehow. He gets paid and sent to a destination he likes (Dallas??) and LA gets back a fringe allstar (or disgruntled star) to pair with Bron/PG. If the Lakers do choose this route (S&T) and Jules absolutely has to consent to it, then LA is effectively hard capped at 130M tho.
Personally I still think Julius at small ball center alongside Lebron and George is going to work well. But I could also see the FO sending him out in S and T. I'm with Vash, I'd hate to just lose him for nothing in RFA. That would be a drag.
Rigth there with ya; I'd even take some draft compensation; the point is we just don't him to leave without getting anything...
not sure how to use randle in a S&T whilst getting george and lebron. if he goes out, he's bringing back salary at or above his current cap hold. given the typical return on S&Ts, you're better off just signing randle. there's no real motivation to S&T if the team can absorb his contract.
i mean, it's possible for an S&T to happen, just not in conjunction with two maxes. i'd still bet on either outright retention or outright loss.
