It is 100% true. I have a rock solid source on this. Remember the story of Lavar getting with his wife to create big kids because she was a tall athlete? He wanted the same for his sons. Lonzo has been with this girl for going on 3 or 4 years I believe. They met in high school out in Chino. She's clearly a girl who was into him before the fame and money. Like you said, sometimes life is worth a hell of a lot more than breeding.
Yup, I am fully aware of Lavar saying he chose his wife because he was tall. I half believe him (I’m sure he liked her too), but to think that he’d expect the same for his kids is ridiculous. He supposedly did that so they could be NBA players, which of course I buy to a large extent, but then shouldn’t your having accomplished your goal with Lonzo mean you’ve given him the life you wanted to and because of that he’s now free to marry for purely love? Heh...? My first thought was Ball did not take to her thinking it's a gold-digger's move and that they are both too young. Did not know about the height thing. That is just stupid. I know he wants to be in his kids' lives but that is another level...above the Marinovich scale even.

They cared about Vanessa’s race? Hope not. I don’t remember that. I thought it was they didn’t want him to marry so young and especially without a prenup. That would have been my concern at least. But it worked out for him so it’s all good.
Is this the girl that was on their reality show? I only watched the first few episodes, but there was a cute girl that he would take to dinner and hang with. As for the short height thing, I don’t see much of a problem with someone considering height as a factor for breeding. If that’s what is important enough to them then why is that any different from any other consideration like someone’s face, family background, fitness level, body shape, propensity to gain weight, health risks, emotional profile, intelligence level, religious faith, etc. Don’t we all do it to some degree? I just commented about race for Kobe’s family, but that’s not important to me, though apparently it was for them. I believe everyone does it, but it just depends on what characteristics are important to you. For Lavar height was one of them. He shouldn’t force his preference on his son, but to have a preference is not inherently a bad thing though it could become a bad thing. Girls usually want to date a guy that is taller than them; guys usually want to be taller than their girl. I’ve seen it and heard people I know say it for many years.
To have a preference is noty only natural, it's Impossible not to have one. But imposing your preferencje on your son is just plain wrong on so many levels, I don't even know where to begin. We are talking about the mother of his child for crying out loud.
