    I'd rather have cap space.

The fact that we even gave him a workout is an absolute embarrassment.

We need to stop bending the knee to Lavar Ball. This should be the LAST time we see Gelo in Lakers gear...I don't want to see him on Summer League...I don't want to see him pre-season...I don't want to see him on our G League team...I want him GONE...preferably back to Lithuania.

I think “embarrassment” is a little strong. I think it was a waste of time, but the Lakers are working out like 6 kids per day for weeks, eventually you’re just looking at everyone. Even the Warriors are working him out, it’s not a big deal. And I actually think now that’s it’s over it’s a good thing because, yes, we can say we did it and move on.

The Lakers name was tainted for even giving him a tryout.

Just like even discussing Leflop affects the shine on the Staples center building.

Some things you just don’t do.

The Warriors name is also tainted then. Not to mention the Thunder and Suns who interviewed him at that little Combine he participated in.

We're far from the only team doing diligence and the kid's shooting is probably enough to earn him a look in Summer League somewhere.

Call me cynical but I would think these upper tier teams giving Gelo the time of day has more to do with currying favor with the decision maker in the family for Lonzo's free agency in 4 years .... just in case, including maybe Summer league as you mention or more unlikely a G-league stash for him to that end.

That's a good point, but it doesn't change that if we should be embarrassed, then everyone who talks to the kid should be embarrassed too. They're not and we shouldnt be either. The kid does one thing well: shoot. Everyone loves shooting these days so it's worth a look. Once they see his.. stature... and his lack of wingspan, I'll bet he's mostly forgotten.

Yeah, I guess the other teams are looking at him...but it's the favoritism that he was afforded (private session with Zo the night before inside the Lakers gym). I'm sick of it man. We really can't afford to waste spots right now and if Gelo even gets close to being on our pre-season squad or G-league team...I'm going to be irate. There's a huge difference between Andre Ingram and Gelo...gelo has no business being on the court with NBA players.

The thing is we already know better because of what comes with the package. Do you seriously want to deal with Lavar if two of his sons are on the Lakers? Oh hell no!

It's irrelevant because his second son isn't going to be on the team.

Edit. When I first saw this under Ramona's tweet in my in box and went to the link, someone of the reporters was commenting that Gelo couldn't hold a candle to AC Fresh and that he was going to have to put in the time to even have a shot. Now looking again I'm not immediately seeing it. But a good context and comparison.

Didn’t the Warriors give Curry’s bro a look at one point in time at the beginning of his career? This is just a little bit of nepotism and it plays out all across the world.

I don't think I can look at Gelo the same way again.
