Well if you think about it, these young guys missed most of Kobe's dominant years. Kuzma was born in 1995, Lonzo in 1997. That means when Kobe won his first championship, these guys were just 5 and 3 years old. At the height of Kobe's powers, these guys weren't even teenagers yet. Meanwhile, LeBron won his first title in 2012. These guys spent more time watching LeBron than Kobe.
All I ever want is just someone, ANYONE from the media to finish the sentence with - "he’s been to the Finals seven straight times but in the East where the competition hasn't been nearly as difficult compared to the West over the last decade." You can only play whose in front of you, but damn. What a nice asterisk, or problem to have to help a career.... You don't have to like it or support it, But you better damn acknowledge it.
Not to get too off topic because this is the Kuzma thread after all. But it's the reason why I've always respected the hell out of the Spurs teams of the past and this decade's Warriors teams. Yes, they have the best players in the world but they also face the toughest competition toward the Finals. They earn everything they get and its well deserved. There is beauty in that struggle. There is no cake walk for them.
I was just going say this. I don't take much of what they said to heart. LeBron is their generational player, they really didn't get a chance to see peak Kobe play.
