Deng and our 2018 first pick for Whiteside is starting to look a lot more attractive if we're unable to land LeBron.

Then, we can re-sign Randle and sign PG13 and roll out:

    Whiteside
    Randle
    Ingram
    PG13
    Ball

    Bench:
    Kuzma
    Hart
    Zu

Miami may be down on Whiteside but they're not THIS down on him. They can do better elsewhere than an albatross contract with two years left on it and a late 1st round pick.

Don't actually think they can...Whiteside stock is as low as it's ever been. Don't think anybody will wanna deal with this headache and right now, Miami needs prospects as they have no ceiling to move up with all the mediocre talent they've overpaid

Imagine if LeBron, George and Randle all take pay cuts, then we trade Luol, 25th pick and Zu for Hassan

I realize his stock is as low as it's ever been but he's still a 28 year old true C coming off a 14ppg 11.4rpg 1.7bpg 54.0fg% season (after going 17ppg 14.1rpg 2.1bpg 55.7fg% the season before). He's a headcase but at least one with size and talent. The Heat, if they trade him, will certainly have to take cents on the dollar but trying to give them Luol Deng - who has negative trade value - and a late 1st round pick is just unreasonable. At that point, they are better off just holding on to him, dealing with his issues and hoping he is so disenchanted with the team and situation he opts out next summer and at least they get a boatload of cap relief.

Deng has been a good teammate and a great locker room presence for not playing...but smh to fans wanting to hold onto him, instead of a pseudo expiring Hassan (2019 free agency is projected to a be alot more hot than this summer). You add that dude to a defensive perimeter like Zo, PG, BI and to a frontline that has LaBron freaking James and I'm sure we'll get some production out of him as opposed to a dude that isn't seeing the floor at all (with a guaranteed 2 year deal on the books still).

I agree it's unlikely, unless he has a monster 2018-2019 season and feels he'd rather have the security of a 4 year deal. Teams are gearing up for that 2019 free agent market and he could very well be one of the more sought after free agents if he gets his act together. Anyway, that's why I said "hoping" he'd opt out. In the end, my point is they'd rather have Whiteside than Deng + late 1st. They can do better and if they can't, they'll hold on to him. Deng is negative trade value at this stage.

Cancer ravages anyone, no matter how hot their body is. Lonzo, LBJ, BI and PG is pretty damn hot. Cancer don't care.

@Grids...haha well said. But I believe greener pastures will play a huge part into the change in his mentality/metastasis. Plus isn't there another saying that goes, white is right haha

@Khmrp Psuedo expiring is that he opts out of his player option in the summer of 2019 cause that market looks to be far less frigid than this summer (cap is projected to jump from 101M to 108M with luxury tax threshold jumping from 123M to 131M and alot more of the crazy contracts of 2016 come off the books in 2019 or are expiring deals at that point ie Deng and become for more likely to be moved or stretched).

Yes they will...the fact that Dwight Howard continued to get a check after his back clearly affected his athleticism means there is money for dude out there. Frontline rim protectors keep getting paid and that has never changed.

There is more fresh money in 2019 and lets say that dude still opts into his final year, he's still much more of a trade asset as an expiring deal than Deng ever could be. He has a role on this roster with PG and Bron, while Deng wouldn't with Jules, Kuz and BI as part of the rotation. Hassan with playing time was a top 3 defensive center.....and even in limited minutes this season, he was a top 5 defensive center.

I strongly believe if you bring in a legit rim protector to cover PG, BI, Zo on the perimeter than our top 12 defensive unit this year goes to a whole other level next year. Deng wouldn't do that for us.

I would love to hold onto BLo for the sole purpose that he can play a tall rim protector, but flipping Deng + assets for Hassan is a no brainer imho.

if we need a defensive C than trade for Robin, at least thats guaranteed expiring and might even secure Brook with exception, im sure playing on a contending home town team with your bro will trumph $ for Brook

^^Yeah thats another possibility for sure! I'm going to support any type of player movement that brings us back a legit rim protector to sure up the wing defense we should fortify with player improvements in Zo and BI and a free agent signing like PG.

Don't dump Deng to pay Bron, PG, Jules more and don't just sit on Deng's contract and have him not suit up again next year. Trade Deng for a team need, even if the contract coming back is ugly (ie Hassan).
