It was more the latter than the former. But Paul George is certainly playing like a secondary star these days. He's way more talented than he's playing right now though. This isn't the same Paul George that lead Indiana to the WCF in his early 20s. This Paul George wants the f*** out of Oklahoma.
Yeah it's kind of weird that people view Randle as a $15M player while no one is complaining about dishing out $30M for PG. I mean is he worth double Randle?
As Lakers Film room pointed out, "he's not the THE guy, but he's still very, very good." And I don't think he had a bad game yesterday; if Westbrook or Melo do their parts, the game is a lot more competitive. Let's just hope Utah gets the job done in 5 or 6 and we can get PG in a room. We just need 1 All-Star here and then others will follow right behind him...
I have a feeling no one looks like a 30 million guy next to Westbrook But still, it’s a huge number, and he’s obviously not a tier 1 alpha if he and Westbrook didn’t have words, and he couldn’t get him to change his ways. But hey, apparently neither is KD, but I’d take him in a heartbeat
I think he's better as a #2 option, but he showed in Indiana that he can be a #1 and still do really, really well. If we get him here this summer, I think we're easily a Playoff team and could honestly probably leap frog teams like Portland and New Orleans.
30 million is the going rate for a max player and that's what Paul is, simple as that. It's expensive, but you pay for talent. Paul has lead a team to the ECF, been to multiple All-Star games, won a gold medal, been on an All-NBA team. The difference between he and Julius is probably close to 15 million honestly. To be fair to Julius, Paul George is in the prime of his career. Now is the perfect time to pay him that much. Julius has one more contract to go and if he keeps growing, maybe he gets to that contract the next time around.
after the last 4yrs, people still nit picking on which fa is top notch and worth or not worth getting
It’s day to day flip flopping season. Over analysis Over valuing Under valuing Getting hopes up Getting hopes dashed We really want/need you I never liked him anyways He’s flawless Look at all these flaws tho Welcome to our offseason Only a few months left to go!
https://www.lakersnation.com/nba-all-star-lakers-sign-free-agent-big-trade/2018/04/23/?src=rss lol PG stop giving hints... another 12:01 signing in the works, this time not the banging head against wall type Kupcrap special
They're a really undeserving third seed, wow. That sort of indicates to me though that the West is not what it once was. I also meant in terms of what we can be if we get him. Portland is the best they can possibly be with this unit right now. We're still a long ways from our best and adding Paul George puts us with a very high ceiling.
the top tier, imo, is a very short list. probably about 5-6 players deep in any given year. the second tier, again imo, stretches from there down to about the 20th-25th best players in the league. at his peak, i had george at the higher end of that group, and i don't think he's past his peak yet, just in an odd situation. i think so, yes. indy turned down randle+ in trade, right? real already hit it, but george is just way more accomplished, and again, he's not past his prime.
Beggars can’t be choosers. PG makes us a playoff team, or at least a playoff contender, which we haven’t been in 5 years. Have to start somewhere, I’d take him in a second. He’s better than what we’ve seen in part too, it’s clearly not easy playing next to Westbrook, as even Kevin Durant continues to “like” social media posts saying as much.
Russell Westbrook Incident Under NBA Review for Potential Game 5 Suspension SCOTT POLACEKAPRIL 24, 2018 Gene Sweeney Jr./Getty Images The Oklahoma City Thunder already have their backs against the wall facing a 3-1 deficit in their first-round playoff series against the Utah Jazz, and they may not have Russell Westbrook for Wednesday's Game 5. Westbrook was waiting to check in at the scorer's table in the fourth quarter of Utah's Game 4 victory on Monday when Raymond Felton fouled Rudy Gobert in the groin. The contest was already heated with plenty of technicals and jawing back and forth, and Westbrook confronted Gobert after the foul, slapping the Utah big man's arm away. According to Andy Larsen of KSL.com, the NBA did not allow the officials to discuss the play after the game because it was being reviewed by the league's disciplinary committee.
Agreed, but I’m sure as heck not begging for PG. Not even trying to dispute what you’re saying. Just not feeling the guy.
They shouldn't do that of course. But what's the rule with the scorers' table vs not coming off the bench for any altercation? Yikes for OKC.
