Lonzo for Kawhi? Where do I sign?

I would trade ANY Laker straight for Kawhi....but I can guarantee that SA wouldn't.

An MVP candidate who is 26, plays insane defense and insane offense? Sign me up.

Kawhi (if healthy) >>>>>>>>>>>>> Paul George without question.

We'd have to throw in Deng (Ennis too?) to make salaries match if only Zo and Magic could feel price is too high ....

Why pick and choose between Kawhi and PG when in this scenario, you could have both? Ingram showed he can play PG. I'd ship out Kuz, Ball, our Cleveland pick and Deng for Kawhi. Use Zu and our 2020 pick to land PG in an opt-in sign and trade. Then sign Lebron and resign Randle

    Randle
    Lebron
    Kawhi
    PG
    Ingram

I like it! All players the same height basically :D But I want to believe that we don’t have to give up Ball and Kuzma...

I mean the argument I've been having is multiple pieces for Kawhi. If it takes one of our kids, that's a different story.

I'd still pick Kuzma or Ingram. Why does everyone suddenly not want a PG? Positionless basketball is great, but we don't need 4 of the same player. We need guys with different skill-sets as well.

Also, you can trade for Kawhi and still sign George. That's kind of the point actually. If we signed George and LeBron, all bets are off on trading for a third star.

"If we signed George and LeBron, all bets are off on trading for a third star."

As in not necessary at that point? That's one of the things I thought you supported? As in if we could blow out 2 at least more of the prime young guys to get a 3rd superstar in here. (Don't think George is a "super" star though). Like trying then to get AD or Kawhi also? Let's just say Kawhi. But I would agree if that's what you're saying that if we have LBJ and PG stop there. Though wouldn't it be swell to be able to swap hypothetically a healthy Kawhi for LeBron the elderly. Without giving up the young core.

Your persuasive arguments to me (specifically) and others that don't like LBJ is that he and PG would immediately put us in contention and show the young guys the playoffs and championship mindset and just how you prepare and go about doing that. Maybe we win one or two before he needs a walker.... but by then the young guys are matured and ready to take over and know how to do it. Not to mention just how much firepower we have by next year with what can be expected from internal improvement from BI, Kuzma, Zo, Randle and Hart with LBJ and PG here. Why blow more of them out and become ridiculously top heavy with 3 max to the nth salaries at the top of the scale now?

It is my opinion we could stop at George/LeBron and go to work there, but I strongly suspect the Lakers would be open to trading for a third star at that point if the opportunity presented itself. Even so, if you keep 2 out of the 4 (not including Randle for now), you still hold a strong future.

Given his recent success, I see no way the Pelicans move Davis. I don't see the Lakers as a real threat to Kawhi in trades. I'd be very surprised if SA decided to trade him here.

If we get PG and Bron, we should find a way to resign Randle and call it a day.

The only way is to trade Deng, unless Randle happens to be attached in a trade that includes Deng.

Or if we stretch Deng and Bron/PG agree to take 5-6M less than their max (35.6 + 30.3 = 66 vs 61). I don't understand why this isn't an option when Bron took less in year 1 in Miami and year 1 in his return to Cleveland. PG also said that money isn't the reason he'll pick his next destination. If money were the case, he would re-up in Indy with the supermax rather than be hell-bent on getting traded or leave Indy in free agency.

It's not about paying the fine, you're restricted from doing so.

I see that the myth of Ingram being able to play PG is perpetuated.

See Vash's comment right above yours.

It's an option, but Lebron and PG would need to take paycuts in order for it to happen as well.

Trading Deng is the ideal move if those guys want money as well.

I'd do this just to see that line-up wreck shop. NBA 2K at it's finest.

What's the refund policy look like for plane tickets to Lithuania and Zo concert tix?

On the bright side, more summer training for Zo to get his body right.
On the fright side, his daddy/coach will be home and that driveway pull-up regimen seems to be inevitable.
