Outstanding game from Hart today. 25 points on 10 of 18 and his percentage was much better than that until the very end with a couple of late shot clock/end of game chucks. He was hot all game long and played some nice D, too. He was our best player by far.
What's amazing about Hart is his IQ, he doesn't wow you with anything crazy, but he's a very smart player, he knows where to be, how to make the unselfish smart pass, knows how to position himself defensively, knows where the rebound is going, and his greatest gift is he's physically strong (therefore great work ethic to be strong where he's at). Hart is a part of the core and deserves to be here for the long haul. He's already a starter in this league and will only get better. Like he himself said that even though he's an older player from Villanova, he pretty much said that he's still going to improve and the potential to be better is still there. I see Josh as a starting sg similar to Avery Bradley, Danny Green, Bruce Bowen type with a bigger body. The future is bright for this young stud. Good job scouting department!
I feel like Josh is almost a combo of D. Fish and Rick Fox. Always under control, does the dirty work, plays great hard nosed D, takes charges, knocks down open looks but is selective about what he takes and hence has been shooting a good percentage. Fundamentals all day.
Hart is more versatile IMO than either Fox or Fisher. He can defend multiple positions (1-3 and sometimes small 4's) and score from just about anywhere on the floor. He can also finish at the rim better than either of them ever could. Fundamentals, IQ, and extreme versatility are what make him special. Teams will be asking for him in any Deng trade situation. We should say no. Versatility on both ends of the floor is becoming a huge part of our cultural identity. Josh fits right in with what we're trying to build.
Really impressed by Hart's play. Has quickly developed into a fan favorite off the back of his IQ - just goes to show what good coaching in college can do over a few years.
Still unreliable on the long ball but am confident Hart will improve on it. His finishing at the rim is just fine. Does well with his off hand. Had a couple of solid defensive sequences on Harden.
Just another superb game from Josh. Highest scorer on the team with 20 on over 50% shooting, plus 7 boards and a couple steals to go with it. 13 points in the fourth quarter! Just another day at the office. Oh yeah, and he's a rookie. Love this kid.
Harden shot 6-14 from the field with 6 turnovers. That tells you something about Hart. Like I said he's a part of the core moving forward, what's exciting is he'll continue to get better as a shooter and stronger physically. Scary stuff, potential 2 way player not just 3 and D
We've already traded away a "do the dirty work" player in Nance to get rid of a contract, I hope we don't do it again with Hart and Deng.
He's shooting I believe 40% from 3pt land when starting so I don't think that's unreliable. That stretch before Payton Jr. broke Hart's hand Josh was excelling from 3.
...then again, Hart doesn't take that many so the clip is skewed IMO. Last night he missed more than he made. Hart plays within himself when it comes to shooting.
Phenomenal night. Monstrous. 30 points, 7 for 9 on threes, 5 boards, 5 assists. I love this kid. He's staying right here.
