Westbrook has been a beast lately, but my problem with giving him the MVP is that he's missed 15 games, which is a quarter of the season so far. He also played poorly in January (another 20-25% of the season) and he really hasn't been playing defense. Meanwhile, Curry's also been great. He's never had a down month, and he's only missed 1 game. Nobody is really talking about CP3, but he has also been really good on both ends of the ball. When Blake went down, he started carrying a larger load and playing more minutes. His team hasn't really missed a beat, and he's arguably been the best defensive PG.
curry would have my vote, using the implied parameters of the award (best player on best team). westbrook and cp have both been among the league's best players, but their teams haven't thrived (for obvious reasons, but we can't start playing that game). after steph, I'd lean towards LeBron or even marc gasol before I started considering others.
Oh man I got caught up a little.. Yes, you are right Curry should be front runner for the MVP. Then I'd go Westprick. Haven't really kept up on Marc at all. One thing though some knock Westbrook for missing time but I saw a stat that says he missed 3 or 4 more games than Bron has yet Bron is a front runner? I am no fan of the Harden love but he has carried that team all year and played even better since coward went down again.
Looking at the standings, what a joke the eastern conference is. Number 2 Bulls would be 8th in the West, number 10 suns would be 6th. Heck the Jazz would be two games out of the playoffs.
SICK pass by Steph Curry http://www.sbnation.com/2015/3/6/81...pass-is-so-amazing-we-cant-really-describe-it
It realy is pathetic. I hope Silver and co. will finally do something about it. West teams battle in every round, east one faces first real test in the finals.
What a surprise, one game after the league admitted the refs missed a call against Harden late in their game, he shoots more free throws than the entire Pistons team the next game...
Just looking at some stats about the finals. In the last 10 years, the west has had 6 winners, 4 different western teams have gone to the finals. The East has won 4 times, with 5 different teams in the finals. 3 west teams have won it all, and 2 east. I wonder if this means the western team is often so much better than the eastern team that they can beat a fresh team while battered, or that the easy schedule becomes a hindrance at some point?
Anyone watching the Warriors vs Clippers game? Warriors are destroying them, they are so entertaining to watch.
^ I meant to watch that game, and time got away from me. Heard Steph went off! Check this out: http://streamable.com/mt6o
Actually steph didn't go off, he was constantly doubled and trapped by the clippers. He did have the crazy three raviator mentioned and snake eyes linked. Green and Livigston stepped up big time and took the game from the clippers in the third.
