What was semantics was trying to differentiate between "top tier" and what wasn't. At this point he's making claims like Kobe Bryant was a souped up Eddie Jones.

But sure. It's a silly argument. I'll leave it be.

I don’t disagree with you at all. I loved Eddie, but Kobe was on a different planet. Some might say they souped up a nice car into a rocket ship.:Kobefistbump:

A souped up Eddie Jones would be maybe Vince Carter, not a top 10 talent like Kobe. That comparison makes as much sense as saying Kareem is a souped up Vlade.

Alright all of y'all are getting cut off!

But before that happens, I'm sneaking in one more order. So who's the souped up JR Smith?

i'm baffled by this. first, i'm not sure we're using the broth-based food category reference properly. moreover, i agree with real that simply taking better players who have some similarities and calling them variations on a spectrum begs the question on what the spectrum parameters really are.

ariza/george is absolutely laughable. it's a comparison that i would think was trolling if tada didn't say it, actually. ariza has no ball skills or playmaking ability, has never been able to play defense against physical guys, couldn't create a good shot for himself to save the lives of his children. they're categorically different players. if you called george a "suped-up" gordon hayward, i'd be listening. but trevor f***ing ariza? gtfo.

Julius Randle is a Derrick Caracter that was able to stop himself from going back for that third bowl of soup.

I'm not talking down to you at all. I had to question if you understood me because it seemed you kept avoiding, involuntarily or intentionally, the points I were making.

Sure you've provided "mountains of evidence" including PG's past accolades like xx times Olympian, xx times allstar, etc etc, but you keep ignoring the fact that not once did I claim Ariza and George were on the same level. You are only confirming my point that PG is a better player than Ariza. You posted some ill-advised data from which you claimed was Ariza's best season and I countered with another that I felt was a better statistical season. Yet you seem to dance around that fact and insist that I've provided zero evidence. What gives?

I've souped up a Civic into a 500hp rocket ship back in the late 90's. That was fun :D

If Paul George is a souped up Trevor Ariza, does that mean he’s a double souped up Devin Ebanks?

You guys have a different interpretation of the word I guess. As I've illustrated above, I "souped up" my good old Civic to levels to where it was beating 911's and M3's on the track :D

Hayward and George are nearly the same player, according to the NBA rank by SI below. That I would not call souped up my friend ;)

    20. KLAY THOMPSON, WARRIORS
    19. KYLE LOWRY, RAPTORS
    18. MIKE CONLEY, GRIZZLIES
    17. DAMIAN LILLARD, BLAZERS
    16. GORDON HAYWARD, C Bags
    15. RUDY GOBERT, JAZZ
    14. KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS, WOLVES
    13. JOHN WALL, WIZARDS
    12. PAUL GEORGE, THUNDER
    11. JIMMY BUTLER, WOLVES
    10. DRAYMOND GREEN, WARRIORS
    9. GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO, BUCKS
    8. ANTHONY DAVIS, PELICANS
    7. CHRIS PAUL, ROCKETS
    6. RUSSELL WESTBROOK, THUNDER
    5. JAMES HARDEN, ROCKETS
    4. KAWHI LEONARD, SPURS
    3. STEPHEN CURRY, WARRIORS

    :KobeConfused:

to clarify: hayward and george play similarly, and george is better in pretty much all ways. suped up, imo.
