More like a mound of cash collapsed on him in his money bin, and he had to ring for a platinum and diamond ambulance to rescue him.

I don't know that there's a good trade in there for Cleveland. They lose LeBron for expiring contracts worth LeBron? Why not just let LeBron expire if all they get is one late 1st round pick?

I think that Luol Deng is really thinking about himself, when he tells Zu to “keep working and let them keep hating”. He probably feels that that is happening to him. I can definitely vouch for the hating part from me. Not sure he can vouch for he working hard part though.

...Aaaand we officially have a Deng dumping site!

He had a tough time saying no to a trust fund baby...now he has to deal with His Royal Airness. I wish him luck, but I doubt he has the type of longevity he had here.

At least just take Deng from us and all is forgiven.

When I saw the news this morning, granted I'd be hearing this was in play for quite awhile my first thought was now Mitch is going to have to learn how to get guys on a budget because Charlotte isn't a big market and you don't have that LA money so tiss speak.

But I'm happy for Mitch and he getting to do this near his beloved North Carolina Tar heels and the Royal Airness.

That doesn't mean you can't get creative.

If we whiff on 2max this summer and instead only lock in 1 or none, then Deng is still on the books and lets make it useful instead of have him sit out for another year. Incentivize Deng for folks that supposedly believed in that contract, ie Mitch and I'm looking at Charlotte and thinking Kemba is on an expiring deal next season and is rumored to have been shopped at the deadline this year. Look to either acquire him or be the third team to provide young players in any Kemba deal....the catch would be dumping Deng.

Also, we all hate to acknowledge his presence, but the Dwightmare occurred with Mitch/Buss and the old regime. Now with Mitch heading back, you look at Dwight's expiring deal next year and he would be the perfect stop gap 1 year deal before we dip back into the free agent pool of 2019. He checks off the boxes when it comes to rim protecting, rim running and rebounding at a high clip. He also sucks at FTs so he's current Laker material.

Also even a Deng - Williams or Deng - MKG swap is an option since both those dudes would be a smaller cap hit if we stretched them compared to Deng.

Just cause the Cats are cap strapped doesn't mean they punt. Jordan certainly doesn't think that way, which is why he ousted Cho in the 1st place.

Good for Mitch. Happy for him. In spite of @KareemtheGreat33's suffocating hate on this site for him.

Okay, I see you Mitch...GM and Team President....aka full autonomy!

Alright Mitch, Dwightmare left you once before, so get some assets before it happens again. Dwight has an expiring 23.8M next season. Let's get another former Laker on the phone and see if we can pacify his current big man problems too. But we'll get to that later...

First get Presti on the line and say you don't have a 2018 1st rounder and PG looks all but checked out. Its better to get something than nothing for him. You get the Cavs pick, we get a 20.7M player opted PG headed back our way. We tell PG/Mintz, its better to opt in and get traded cause we'll get your bird rights and immediately after we trade for you, we give you a max extension with 8% annual raises that only a bird rights player can receive.

Now with George (20.7), Jules (cap hold of 12.4) and the rest of the guaranteed roster including Deng (39.1), we're looking at roughly 73M in team salary and about 30M in cap space. We can shed Ennis and TB to create even more space, but we tell LaBron come here on 1+1 deal and we'll give you your true max next summer once you opt out.

Then let the draft happen and hop on the phone with your Laker conglomerate of Mitch and Riles. Send Deng, 2019 1st and 2021 1st to the Cats. Send Riles Zu, Dwight and some 2nds. Bring Hassan back our way to LA.

Hassan is 5th in defensive rating amongst centers that have played 25+ minutes and has a player option of 27M for the 2019/20 summer. We can either offer him an extension or use him as an expiring deal to target another player(s).

    Zo/MLE guard, PG13/Hart, BI/Kuz, Bron/Jules, Hassan/BLo (via room ex)

    #17...go get it!

You lost me at Hassan. Dude is a straight cancer. We have plenty of better options, even Thomas Bryant whose skill set is far more better for todays game to through out there than Whiteside. No thanks
