But he still drilled 2 or 3 of them. Brook really has been balling.

Lopez kept the game from getting away from us all night... He, Randle and Half Pint did not get much help. Caldwell-Pope was mostly cold and Ball was ineffective with his offense.

Our best player on the court on both ends last night.

Glad his back didn't tighten up on him, was worried there.

There was a time when this wouldn’t have been so bad, but we’re missing half the good players on the team already, and Lopez has been great lately. Also, Zu has been terrible. Crap.

Questionable with his back and ended up playing 37 minutes.

Good thing there are 3 days off

    2nd Page pull up.

Brook in the month of March: 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.7 blocks. He's got 54.8 FG%, 39.1 3PT%, 68.2 FT% resulting in a 62.9 TS% which is fantastic. His ORtg is at a phenomenal 123 with a 109 Drtg resulting in a net +14 Rtg which is also fantastic.

His 3PT% now is now basically the same as it was last season (34.7% this year, 34.6% last year) after two months of shooting 52/116 from outside (44.8%).

Even though it seems like we've used him more in the post, his USG% has actually decreased a bit. He was up over 26% in December and January, but now is under 22% through February and March.

His FG% in March skyrocketed as he's taken less outside shots. He shot a ridiculous 55.4% of his shots from outside in January. In February it was 50% and now in March he's down to 34% of his shots coming from outside.

This is the Lopez I'd hoped we brought in, but obviously we had other priorities this season. I knew he wasn't as bad as he was playing and I'm happy for him that he's had a chance to shine here late. If he gets a big offer somewhere, I wouldn't be surprised, but hopefully he decides to stick around and help us build something special.

33 wins with some injuries to key players. Yeah, I think he knows that, too; he's too smart not to, right? He's also from this area and grew up a fan; I think he works with management to ensure his stay here; he's actually a really nice piece. Smart, good locker room guy, give us a legit size at the 5, and can play.

    I like Lopez, though.

I'd love to bring him back because when he's right and in the post he's a matchup problem. And he's done a good job blocking shot and being that rim protector even though the stats and ranking may not hold him to a high regard.

Pincus has mentioned it before but it would be great if we could sign him to the room exception granted all our other plans work out first.

    Not necessarily true.

It was rumored that BLo would be the target of a buyout, but when they went to him to ask about it, he wanted to stay in LA. Obviously with a buyout, he gets as much money as agreed to and then the new team would try to pay him what remained on the contract. If not, then the vet min. Doing that however would cost him his bird rights. Heck even if he chooses to go to another team this summer, his bird rights don't come with him. We traded for him, so we're the sole possessors of it.

However, he knows the hype of Bron/George this summer, so we would have to renounce those rights to make room since he's a huge 33M cap hold. But hold up...the CBA permits that if there is remaining cap left and if the home team uses it on one of their renounced players, then essentially we gain his bird rights back. Via Larry Coon's CBA faq:

I can totally see PG/Bron shedding some off their max deals to help create a better roster if they decide to choose LA. If they allow for us to have a little more cap wiggle then we can get BLo back on a 1+1 type deal where he has some insurance with that 2nd year to opt into in case of injury. But at a modest 1 year deal, he can opt out next summer and we can use his bird rights to give him a raise in pay for the home town discount he gives us this summer.
