That’s just sad. But then again, maybe they’re worried if he gets injured his trade value goes from zero into the negative numbers.

Do you think it's because fans at Staple Center would boo him?

Either way this is pissing me off. He's making 17-18 million dollars, we should at least play him for a few minutes with all these injuries.

    I agree.

If the alternative is to bring Williams from China, then we could have just tried to play him to see what he has in the tank.

I'm afraid it's gonna take kuz to unload this guy. With randle being such a pleasant surprise and the possibility of signing two max fas, we have to unload dung.

    Starting offer is cle1st, 2020 1st
    Second offer adds hart
Final offer might have to be kuz instead of hart.

If that’s the price I think I prefer to stretch him

No one is sending Kuz out to unload Deng. Magic and Rob would have to be blind to not understand which players need to be kept at all costs. And Kuz, Randle, BI and Zo are the Big 4.

At worst we are attaching Zu and/or Hart with Deng, otherwise you stretch him and then figure out the pay for the FAs later.

Saw a post by the rock with the Lakers on his Instagram. Was very surprised to see Deng wasn’t even in the photo or with the team...

His value is already nonexistent. I say we should throw him into the rotation with all our injuries. Worst case, he’s invisible and his value stays the same.

Best case, he has a few games where he contributes. Nothing major. Really all he has to do is produce at the same level as Wear. Make a few open 3’s, play average defense, grab a few boards.

Now that narrative changes from “Deng is a useless corpse” to “Deng may be washed up but he can contribute NBA minutes and was mainly just not a good fit for the rebuilding Lakers”.

Suddenly it doesn’t sound as terrible to take on 2 years of Dengs contract if you can pencil him in for 20 minutes a game off the bench. To the point where maybe just attaching one or two first rounders is enough to get it done.

I think the few minutes he got to start the season genuinely scared our FO, he looked so bad. So unless he’s been on the Randle workout plan all this time, having not played in any games in this long, he’s gonna be BAD when he gets in. Like KB24 said, they brought Williams in from China..so I’m guessing they don’t believe in what Deng has to offer. You’d THINK they’d do anything possible to up his value, so you’d have to conclude they know what they’re doing. And from the laugh Magic gave when he was asked after the trade deadline if they tried to trade Deng, I’m guessing it was a laugh to not cry moment.
