Not sure of all the Salary Cap implications, But.. Could we potentially Add P. George, keep Randle & still sign someone like Evan Turner..? That would be some serious business...
Okay, I'm going to try to do this in two parts.... 1st Part: Evan Turner is still under contract with the Blazers till 2020 and pretty much has the same contract structure as Deng. You can't sign him outright, but you can trade for him with...maybe Deng, I guess. 2nd Part: I truly and sincerely mean no disrespect to you, but I had no idea what team Evan Turner even played for. After looking it up and seeing his contract and stats, I can't help but think, did LaBron murder and eat y'all kids? Why hate the guy so much where you would rather go to the lengths of an Evan Turner just to avoid seeing him in a Lakers uni? I can't even....like I'm literally looking around to see if there is another me walking around right now, cause if Trump for president was any inclination I may be in an alternate universe, now I'm reading guys don't want Anthony Davis and LaBron freaking James for the likes of keeping Jules and trying to gain the services of Mr. Turner. WTF is going on? I checked the batteries to my sarcardar...it seems fine. Its gotta be something I ate. I knew those mushrooms at dinner looked suspect. Portobello my a**.
or "Someone Like".. More of a salary cap question than a player specific question. But, we could do a lot worse..
Thats notna great example of a player considering stats n contrct sz but there is a fa better than evan....i think u might of meant Tyreke Evans? He's having a career yr n finally looking like mini LeBron again. If threw 3yrs 30mill contract we could easily get him
To answer the question: If we don't waive Deng, but we waive Ennis (non-guaranteed), and waive our Bird Rights to Lopez, Pope, Frye, and Thomas, we'll have 47.3 million to spend. You could sign Paul George at 30.3 million, leaving 17.6 million to spend. You then have a limited amount of time to sign someone else with that 17.6 million (which can go up to roughly 25 million if you stretch Deng) to sign addition pieces. You could use it on a player like Evan Turner (or Tyreke Evans) or bringing back some combination of the other guys like Frye, Lopez, Pope, or Thomas. All of this has to happen before Julius signs his offer sheet though. As soon as Julius signs his offer sheet which can be up to 25.3 million, that money counts on our cap. We desperately need to make things happen quickly so that we can keep him and sign other assets.
If we're spending money on a guy of Evan Turner's quality I'll be upset. And yes, we could definitely afford to do this but why?
Really. If we're spending our largest exemption for example Brook Lopez would be awesome to have back. Guy is in tremendous shape and is just so solid in there and his game will translate as he ages. He rarely gets punked stat wise by other good big players.
Big ups to Bullyius for laying the wood on Murray. Wish it was harder, cause he still made both FTs, but I'm happy Jules volunteered himself to shut that clown up. And then he went after Jokic... Btw, another solid game by our enforcer.
Once again, when does keeping Randle become more important than signing 2 max free agents. Dude is our backbone at this point.
Why choose, if you dont have to? LaBron mentioned Jules by name when LA 1st came thru the Land and then the Kang witnessed a monster game from him at Staples. George and Jules share an agent, so I'm sure PG is aware of how Jules could help the squad. If PG and LaBron sacrifice 3M each, we can accommodate Jules cap hold and match any offer sheet he signs.
O.M.G. The force at which Randle dunked that ball could have killed a man. The slow mo replay was awesome as well.
Obviously I want all 3, but I do not share in everyone's confidence that LBJ or PG will take any sort of pay cut.
