WOW ,Cavs 4 starters - without LeBron James - combined for 35 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 blocks. Julius Randle, by himself, had 36 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 blocks.
...just relentless inside. The obligatory "bull in a china shop" courtesy of Billups. Randle's shown touch to the rim and powered it up when it was there. Had two charges but there was one sequence where he stopped on a dime and whipped a pass to Caldwell-Pope for a three.
Lebron is only allowed to come here if he figures out a way to get creative with the cap in order to allow us to give Julius the contract he deserves.
He just auditioned for LaBron and possibly convinced him into a paycut just to make sure he doesn't go anywhere this summer. When it seemed like Zo played a little star struck, Bullyius took the reigns and told everybody to follow his lead.
During the highlights they called him The Punisher. Couldn't have scripted this game better. We blew them out worse than the Clippers and LBJ sees right in front of his eyes why he and George want Randle here too.
LeBron could come if he wants to sign for 2 years with a pay cut. Otherwise GTFO we need to sign Julius first.
On one open court foray, Randle "bumped" Jeff Green and he went flying into the stands. I just sat there and couldn't keep from laughing. Randle had a good two man game going with Thomas that blew open the game. The ESPN commentators kept asking why there are even notions of him being "disposable" so to speak.
More impressive is that Randle has been making his free throws, our season's biggest bugaboo. Rattlers but still count. His court awareness has been kind of finely tuned too hitting cutters and finding open perimeter players. I noticed that at the end of the game, Randle and Walton had a nice exchange. Nearly missed Clarkson's post game attempt to say hello.
But the lazy SOB (too often) let's a guy 5 feet away shoot a J from top of the key while he's staring at him while in his stationary crouch with his hands at his sides. Makes me freaking crazy. Look how Lopez keeps his hands up dumb a** and he's 7 foot.
Agree... Randle was on many defensive iso's on James tonight and did well. He just needs to know who he's playing against. Know your personnel so to speak.
I asked it earlier in this thread, but how many more games like this do we need to see before resigning Randle is more important than signing Paul George?
LaBron taking the backseat to Jules....said no universe (alternate or otherwise) ever. That being said, the Kang knows what's up and it would be in his best interest, as well as Jules, for both to sacrifice some of their bag to play with each other. There's that B word again.
We have to keep him at all costs. He's been way too good for us and I hope LeBron paid attention tonight... You want to come here LeBron? You and PG13 need to make it work for the Lakers to keep Julius Randle too. Because he's your shot at a title next year if you come to LA to join Randle, Ingram, Kuzma, Zo, Zu and Hart.
