If they want Kuzma, I probably keep the pick. Reason being: Kuzma is proven NBA talent already as a rookie on a great pay scale. There's no guarantee the next kid will be as good.

And if that move is made, they better KNOW that they've got two guys coming.

I should have said if we know the two stars are coming. It was implied.

Right, but the timing could be tricky.

FA doesn't open until July and the draft is towards the end of June. We could make that move at the draft (when teams can use draft picks for the kids they want), but that means making the move without a guarantee of what we have.

It might make more sense to (and I hate to say it) use one of Hart or Kuzma around the FA agency instead of the Cleveland pick. It would guarantee that we get "value" with the CLE pick as well as guarantee us the FA, but would obviously cost us a sure thing which is tough.

I don't think we use Kuzma. Hart yes, but Kuzma seems to be untouchable in this front office's eyes. But if you hold a gun to my head, and Kuzma is the obstacle keeping us from having Randle, Lebron and PG, I trade Kuzma.

I'm going to start preparing myself for this sort of thing.

The FO could look at the Cleveland pick as a replacement for Hart or Kuzma and then use one of those, more proven pieces to move Deng. Something like Deng/Kuzma or Hart/Zubac or Deng/Kuzma or Hart/2020 1st honestly should be enough to get it done. Kuzma more than Hart would hold value in any trade. But if you make that move and retain Randle while adding two max guys, it'll sting but we can move past it. There's also some optimism (as @vasashi17 pointed out) that the Cap might increase which could help us a bit. We could have Randle, Ball, Ingram, CLE pick, Kuzma, Bryant for 31.6 million after cap holds.

That leaves 69.4 million to spend. You give LeBron his 35.4 and George his 30.3 million. That leaves us actually 4.9 million to spend before the cap as well as the 4 million room exception...

That's just wrong and if LBJ and PG are all about winning a ring they want both of those guys here. Great and cheap young talent. They need to let us keep Julius with for them small salary cuts. Not further .... we have done 3 already you greedy bas***** ...... shedding of talented young players to cover your salaries.

I hadn't heard about the cap increasing. I thought it was sort of a forgone conclusion that it'd be at 101.

Dude's a cap enthusiast, but based off his bio, he seems to be wired in.

Along with the Clips signing a deal to get patched for their jerseys...uh pardon me, "empowerment badges", the Mavs have also joined in on the fun. So now that's 20 teams that have jersey patches and 21 if you count the Clips empowerment badge as a patch.

The more teams that make deals with patches and the more revenue that's generated in the playoffs this year (recall the Cavs and Warriors went largely undefeated heading to the Finals...so money was lost), will mean that the cap should most likely move up from the projected 101M it is at now.

Where does sexual orientation come into play between a patch and a badge? f***ing cLippers man.

    Is "patch" gender specific?

    aka a vag badge

The cLips are seriously tone deaf. They probably wanted to give a shout out to the narrator of this instant classic video in the name of gender equality.

One of my all time favorites. Don't play loud at work. They will think you're watching Planet Earth or something.

I really think for any other team to even entertain the idea of taking on Deng, we might have to attach BOTH Kuzma and the Cleveland pick.

Just the pick alone won’t do it. No team in their right mind would pay $36 million for a late 1st round pick.

The thought of all this makes me mad at Jim Buss/Mitch. The amount of assets it’s costing just to rid of the summer of Mozgov/Deng is horrific.

What about 2 1sts, Zubac, Caruso, Ennis, Wear, and 36 million laundered dollars?

I’m telling LLLLL to take less if he’s coming.

I don’t even want to give up my draft picks tbh.

Look how good we could be if he doesn’t get too greedy. We have decent depth. Come here if you want to be part of the team, limit your minutes, and extend your career.

If not, don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya

    Wait.

You really aren't excited about the idea of LeBron coming? Are you sure? I've never heard of such a thing!?
