.... maybe we have more than excellent shot to compete for the ring next year. Maybe we don't have to lose 2 or 3 possibly of our best young guys to also pursue a third superstar in the league. Hell even LT would accept LaBron and watch the carnage with the DEATH lineup on the floor. Do wish he'd lose the beard though. Sorry not in the deep trench with you sirron. If I get to keep the kids including Julius I'm a happy camper.
Wade retires with the Heat, and he’s said as much. Pretty sure he goes nowhere now. The rest is fascinating, but I’m having a hard time embracing stuff until it happens any longer. It’s been years.... And yes, I’m having a hard time enbracing the LLLLL scenario, but we could do far worse.
They are talking about the Pincus article on Mason and Ireland right now. They are talking about giving up one pick to dump Deng. I'd dump the Cleveland pick AND the 2020 pick to retain Randle with PG and Lebron.
Keeping Julius vs Cleveland 1st round pick + Future 1st round pick (Protected 1-3) likely to be late 20s (If PG/James here for the ride)........ Yea we knock picks out of the park and those picks would be cheap contracts, but we knocked our 1st pick in the 2014 draft out of the park and I'd rather have the 23 year old who is blossoming into the player that everyone thought he could be. No contest. As Real said, the death lineup + Kuz/Hart off the bench, what picks did we have again?
I thought we've always heard it would take one of Zo, Kuz, or Ingram to dump Dung? If all it takes is a 1st or two and Zu or Bryant......dude. No brainer. Don't you think this would have happened by the trade deadline if true?
Well we didn't have a 1st to play with thanks to the Nash trade. Now we can move either this Cleveland pick (likely in the low 20s) and/or a 2020 1st as well as a couple 2nd rounders. By the time we got Cleveland's 1st, it might have been too late to make that move. I am skeptical though that it'd take just the 1 1st round pick. If we can pull that off, we should do it asap.
I wonder if we don't dump Deng because there isnt a reason to yet? That Cleveland pick would mean we have to do the move before the deadline, but what if LeBron doesn't come? There's no reason to dump Deng. He might be easier (and cheaper) to dump next off-season with only one year.
I would have to assume it would take 2, but if Maginka can pull it off, that would be ridiculous. Now that I think of it, the offseason makes so much more sense to move Deng now than before. He's down to 2 years left, teams have space to absorb his contract without us having to take back any or very little, and the CLE pick is set. The teams that actually have working space are Atlanta, Chicago, and Indiana. Maybe Chicago bites at taking back Deng if we include the CLE pick and the 2020 1st Round pick?
How Magic and Rob answered the question posed to them at the interview session they did on the day of the trade deadline it sure sounded like they tried everything in their powers to made a deal to trade Deng away. I have to believe offering 2 1st Round Picks was part of a package they tried.
I don't know I'm not so sure. Even if we did, we'd be offering 2020 and 2022 which is different than 2018 and 2020.
No knee will ever bend, but IF it’s inevitable and IF it’s going to happen, one needs time to mentally prepare. It’s like mourning. It’s a process. ***To be clear, I have not conceded, but proactively entering a phase of mental preparation. I’d prefer not to skip a whole season of ball over one douche***
