    DJ...I do not want.

I don't like him. He doesn't have the competitive spirit and too many holes in his game. I don't want to see hack a DJ all the time in crunch time either. This team has enaugh bad FT shooters. Also DJ relies a lot on athleticism and will soon be on the wrong side of the fence (30).

I looked at our salaries in hoopshype, and saw Deng's and IT's respective salaries. I teared up, what if we signed IT when he was begging us to? We could have the C bag's fortune right now. That's why Kupcrap should never get another job in this league again.

There are a ton of other things that led to the C Bags being in their situation. To really make the comparison you'd have to have Kupchak trade Kobe and Pau away while they still had some left in the tank for picks and assets. You'd have to hire the 2nd best coach in the NBA out of college. You'd have to find a couple suckers to make additional trades with using the assets from the Kobe and Pau trade...IT isn't the sole reason the C Bags turned it around. In fact, it's looking like he may have had very little to do with it.

Kupchak wasn't a great GM when the anti-Laker CBA took effect. He was a great GM when the rules were in favor of large market teams because he learned from Jerry how to take advantage of that.

With all that being said, the C Bags kind of are what they are now. They are the third best team in the East who might get a little bit better with Hayward next season, but they aren't knocking off Lebron and they aren't going to come close to beating the Warriors. At least we have a shot to be something really special as early as next season.

I think we’ve all been had, and something sneaky is going on and they can’t claim the dead player exemption

I think being a corpse qualifies as "Medical Retirement" although I'm not sure the CBA explicitly says so.

Mitch’s first two moves for Charlotte: trades for Deng and Mozgov.

Where’s that Mitch Wand smiley when you need it?

Why in the world would you choose to lose Julius Randle?

Yeah but again even if we land LBJ and PG this team needs what Randle brings and the DEATH lineup would be awesome. Everyone knows LBJ don't take no damn discount. But if he's smart (allegedly) he should want Randle here and just like his superstar amigos in Miami took a little less to have the killer lineup .... and just like superstar KD took less for the same reason .... LBJ and PG should do the same to make keeping our great young core intact possible. Not to mention Randle is the only true tough guy we have on the roster.

Your first question above makes no sense. Pretty self evident.

I see what you're getting at. They are still a little short if the King of all Kings has to have his most max contract. So a stretch gets it done as abhorrent as that is. But Randle needs to be retained as well and none of Zo, BI and Kuzma sacrificed. Precedent's been set. If LBJ wants a shot at a ring this next year he needs to take a little less and same with PG and same with Randle. What's so special about their "stars" vs what Durant and Bosh and Wade did? Otherwise sign PG only and roll with it for the next 8-10 years.
