When is Luke going to make decisions faster than arm chair coaches on here? Don’t play Ennis, Start Randle, simple it’s really simple. It took him almost half the season to figure that out when most would have done that day 1.

The team is playing well and he deserves some of the credit for it for sure, but damn we’d be hunting for seeding in the playoffs if he recognized the issues a lot earlier than he did.

Ennis should have never been brought back, he’s not a NBA player and Luke started him for multiple games.

 

Well, maybe he bit the bullet for a few months to really see what needed to be worked. He looks like he's figured some things out with the rotations. I was worried he wasn't. Glad a did.

 

I honestly think it had alot to do with business in terms of Randle/Clarkson.

They lead the team in usage %age. Pair that with controlled minutes and their efficiency rating is ridiculous. That is something that we possibly considered in driving up their trade value.

Obviously the limited minutes also reduces their injury risk as well.

When it comes to Hart, he came into training camp injured, so he essentially played his way into game shape during the season. And as we've seen with Zo, LA doesn't want to rush back their rookies to avoid debilitating injuries that could affect the remainder of their careers.

BI was hobbled that is why we couldn't put him at the point and Ennis got more burn because of it. Most of us were harping for a vet PG this summer and I think if we convinced Rondo, that woulda been such a key acquisition, both to protect Zo from "growing pains" (ie injury) and as a mentorship particularly on the defensive end. LA did try to sign Rondo so that gives me some solace.

Business aspect aside, I still think Randle's increased minutes had no correlation to team success early in the season. Youth, abridged training camp and injures within that time period along with roster overhaul is going to lead to a slow start as they figure out chemistry amongst each other and understanding/developing team culture. Add to that our strength of schedule and we stumbled early...no surprise.

During our current winning ways, you can't ignore the quantity of teams we are playing against.

I love the effort and potential, but we would be remiss to think that this young inexperienced team wouldn't get washed in a 7 game series even if we ended up earning a spot.

Imho, Luke has done a great job all things considered.

I'm sorry. My peeves are the tired and rehashed Dlo trades and considering Randle's mistreatment.

Still got nothing but love for you LT, even though we disagree on this matter.

 

Not even talking about the mistreatment, though I do not agree with you on your take about it. I'm talking about it's obvious to most of us that had he been starting and getting the minutes from the get go we would have more wins from that single aspect alone.

 

Early in the season, Randle getting more minutes led to more losses than wins. In fact, him playing 19 or fewer led to our most wins early in the season. Its a piss poor sample and it obviously doesn't tell the whole story, but its absolutely true that there was no correlation to more Randle minutes leading to team wins. You could assume that they might have. However I assume that it could be that they were young, never really played together before, and played higher quality opponents early on.
