Yep. The only way I move Randle is to dump Deng. Let's see how serious Dallas is.

Pass, powel will be another garbage contract we'd have to pay to move....id rather ask for 2019 1st w/noel if dall doesnt take deng

If they want to move powel, i do a deng/ the 2 2nds we have from chi for powel n we stretch powel instead

powell's worth his contract. very good defender, plays within himself. you're only paying 1.5 million more for him for three years versus the amount you'd pay for a stretched deng for 5 years. easy call.

i generally disagree with many of your player evaluations, i guess.

N yet most dall fans hate powell n cant wait to move him
Edit- powell has a 105 def rating, nance is 103 n I wouldn't even consider nance a "good defender" n if we paid nance 10mill/yr we be dumb too like dall did with powell

Beer's in the minority but apparently a 31 year old, 13, 3 and 3 guy is worth 18 million.

I'm with you, mrp, it was a tiny dig at beer's defense of Wes Matthew's contract. I remember everyone hating Deng's deal.

idk guys, am I the only one who kind of doesn't want to get rid of Randle even if it means losing Deng and getting rid of that contract.

If we miss out on FA we can just stretch deng if we want but at least we still have Randle, a young 23 prospect who we have seen games of greatness in him as far as versatility is concerned.

I agree. The bottom line is that a Deng Dump doesn't make us any better. It actually makes us worse by losing one of our best players in Randle. Considering how the 2018 FA market has dried up with 1) Cousins hurt and 2) George likely staying, attaching Randle to a Deng Dump no longer makes any sense because Randle is one of the 5 best remaining FA's on the market. We still have that 1 max slot remaining for Lebron for those wondering btw.

19 points, 12 boards. He could not be stopped the 1st half, he and Ingram had us ahead almost by themselves. Awful 2nd half, night and day, from beast to moron, but we got the win, I’ll take it, trying to stay positive.

Randle would be a heck of a player if his basketball IQ could match his physical gifts. If he puts it all together one day, passing, shooting, defending - watch out.

It seems he’s consistently good enough for one energetic half a game.

    Half the max salary! Sold!

But he thinks he’s worth more. How bout earn it first bro.

Yeah, that is the worry. You want him to play well but too well and you risk overpaying him.

Overpaying happens all the time in contract years. Just look at the past season at the type of money going out to players you probably never heard of. Julius’ play will pique the interest of some team enough to show that his peak has yet to be reached, which will result in a big payout. He has a new family, so hopefully he does.

For those KCP haters, didn’t Detroit offer him 5yrs at $80MM. I don’t see why Julius would not be deserving of that type of offer. Doesn’t seem to be that much of a stretch.

I rather overpay for Jules, a Lakers pick and still a young guy, than see another mentor like Deng, Felton or guys like Parsons, Crabbe, Bazemore and so on.
We all bash his bball iq... but if he had it between his ears, he would be Barkley 2.0

This is clearly the best version of Randle we’ve seen yet. Him getting into the best shape of his life this off season was probably just a coincidence with it being a contract year. He will probably always maintain this level of fitness even after signing his next contract. Probably.
