He has been playing well; and yes, @Weezy he looks happy.

    Agreed completely.

Only love him for a star. Anything besides that isn't worth it. I'd rather move JC if we need to shed salaries (and for now I'm not eager to move him either).

A lot of things sort of self-corrected when Luke finally made Julius a starter. I don't know why that took so long. Again, I'm going to hold off blaming him because it may have been ordered by the FO. But now with Randle starting and Nance coming off the bench we are really clicking. Good to see. Both guys are doing much better in those respective roles.

He's at a 50% rate on getting a double double while starting.. That's pretty awesome. Believe I heard on spectrum he's started 16 games and got a double double in 8 of them.

Would help if he played 30 mins consistently a night, he’d probably average around 16/10

I think he'd be averaging 18/10/3 if he were a starter playing 30+ minutes.

Would he finally put his hands up on defense?

Agreed on the smiles and story part. Been wanting to see that smile from him for months. He's a tough player to read, because during games whether on the bench or not he's always kind of got a frustrated face. But I'm starting to understand that this is just how he is. But like you said, trading him would be a mistake given his age and ability to change the game with skills of being able to switch on defense and bully smaller defenders near the rim.

Honestly, the only way for me is if they take Deng, or give us MULTIPLE draft picks while taking back expirings.

i will be quite disappointed if its noel n junk...either 2019 top 10 protected 1st with noel or they take deng....anything in between is another wasted young talent for elusive 2max plan

They REALLY want him. For the right deal, I'm game but the train of trading him for the sake of clearing space has kind of left the station a couple weeks ago.

Who would have thought we could use this in a completely serious manner?

    No Deng, no deal.

One of the worst kept secrets they want him. Interesting to see what we get. I cant see us moving him for a deal that hurts our cap space. We'll see.

And to think, that was the dealbreaker for KOBE.

    randle/deng/zu

    for

    powell/harris/noel

    who says no?

lakers shave some off the cap for next year, get a serviceable backup 4/5 (like getting a second nance), get vet guard help, maybe give noel a chance to showcase himself for a payday
mavs get a chance to inject some more young talent to the roster in exchange for taking on deng (whom i think carlisle would use, actually)

harris and/or noel could be replaced with mcroberts if need be.
