Russ may have PG back but he won’t give him the ball. I think PG will tire of Russell’s ball hogging way.
It’s all well and good that Westbrook says nice things about him, but when he’s relegated to spot up 3 point shooter because of how Westbrook actually plays on the court, different story. In the playoffs when Russ is taking 30 shots and trying to do it all his own and pissed off because the Thunder can’t get it done in the end, we’ll see how much fun PG is having and how much Westbrook has his back. If Durant and Westbrook can split up, so can Westbrook and PG.
Russ, you really want to be there for your boy? Go tell Presti to trade him to LA, cause PG in P&G leads to him undoubtedly becoming an all-star.
If you love someone, let them go. If they come back to you, it was meant to be. If not, they are happy in their hometown of LA and you can suck it.
If PG doesn't join the Lakers...it will be a gigantic PR disaster for Magic and the Lakers. We would be back to the Mitch and Jim era of striking out regularly because we want that 500 ft. HR. The Lakers simply cannot miss this time around. And George saying what he said is a concern. This is not about George, who by all metrics, is a very good player but not a franchise altering talent. This is more about the credibility of the Lakers and particularly...Magic and Pelinka. If they miss...good lord...the backlash will be humongous.
The correct answer would be "who cares that its their first year"? Thats not an excuse. You cannot have the new regime making the mistakes that got the prior regime fired. No excuse justifies making the same error. We have sucked too long to be going through another clueless front office plan.
yeah, this is about the worst it's looked. i thought they catastrophically bungled the george situation this summer, and nothing that's happened since has made me feel differently. tbh, the lakers should take this as a message to them and become buyers on the trade market. they have a ton of expirings and teams need to get rid of useful players. you could move lopez and kcp for fournier and vucevic, things like that. then you don't have to worry about trying to dump deng or managing space to match randle and chase guys who don't want to play here.
A scenario that could happen is that PG re-signs with a LBJ type deal of a 1 year contract with a player option. I think the PG-RW relationship is still new and it took years for the KD-RW relationship to fracture. We'll have to see what happens with them in the playoffs. This is far from over and if it doesn't work this year, there's Klay and co. in 2019.
just prepare yourselves for the massive disappointment that will be this offseason PG coming to LA is looking less and less likely by the day
the only solice we have with pg possibly staying in okc is that they'll most likely have a team tax penalty of 100+mill for at least 2yrs n no way to improve their roster w/o paying more tax
It's starting to look like the only way we get PG-13 is if LBJ is coming with him. I don't think he leaves to sign here by himself or with Boogie. teaming up with LBJ is probably the only way he can justify leaving OKC at this point.
not to cause mass suicide, but i wouldn't be at all shocked if our big acquisition this summer was melo on a two-year deal.
I'll start the mass suicide if that happens. It's just wrong and problematic for so many reasons on so many levels. No way! Edit: I'd rather use the money to acquire a couple or more role players who at least knows how to move the ball.
