I gave him a ton of grief too, but the rim protection he gave us last night was needed badly. Nice Job Brook!
Keeping his minutes limited like he's never experienced in his entire career (avg 30.5 as a rookie, 32.2 as a Net and is avg. 22 as a Laker). Maybe that allows us to offer the room exception of 4.7M this summer and he accepts. Meanwhile, starting Nance maybe highlights the guy...for you know...trades.
Upside, inside out, we livin' la vida Lopez. If we use him right he has value, but he will only pick up 20+ points and 4+ rebounds if we play him huge minutes and that is counter-productive.
...had me shaking my head taking those treys last night even if he did hit a pair. Had a one on one with Gasol on the low block and barely missed a jump hook. Blocked Aldridge on a shot. Foul trouble limited him.
The classic back to the basket big is no longer in vogue... I still would like to see Lopez given opportunities to play in the post.
agreed, but he does the same move constantly - A right hook shot turning over his left shoulder, that is he is doesn't get called for hooking his defender with his left arm like he often does.
Still irks me seeing Lopez shoot from way downtown. Had three sequences in the low post where he scored and another he barely missed. Prefer that over hanging out on the perimeter. Had a nice block on Horford.
I was just glad that tonight on a number of occasions he caught the ball at the 3 point line, had his defender running out to him, and instead of taking the 3 put the ball on the floor and attacked. It worked well and I hope he sees this on film and continues to attack when his defender closes out so hard. We need more of this.
He has been playing well lately. I've never liked the volume of threes they've got him shooting. I'd prefer him going towards the rim. As slowly as he drives, he's still an enormous person and usually can get a decent look or a foul. I'd definitely like to keep him around if we could. He's starting to adjust so that he can be productive in incredibly low opportunities after spending almost his entire career being "the guy".
well Robin destroyed Brook in the last matchup when CHI came to Staples. I sure hope history doesn't repeat itself tonight.
