I like Caruso a lot as a 3rd string PG. Despite looking older than Deng he is still a rookie, and I see some potential to stick in the NBA. If we had a better 2nd string PG I think his deficiencies wouldn't be so glaring
I like the kid and hope he sticks with the team. Has upside and size and decent athleticism and smarts to play how Luke wants. More so all those things (not sure about smarts) than Ennis who's been in the league longer. And Alex has a meaningful championship under his belt of which he played an integral part. Like Josh Hart. Almost.
Reminds me of the Vujacic dunk against the Kings...with the Laker bench in a tizzy. Hart doing the Fisher thing too.
After regularly watching highlights of himself in the G-League a while back, I'm glad he has brought some of his game to the main roster. He already had a handful of posterizers back there, so him doing one last game in Indy was mildly a surprise, considering defense is much tougher in the big leagues. Also, how 'bout those Lonzo-ish numbers, eh? 9 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals!
Although I gave him the name POP, I’m no longer calling him that. Caruso is ready to play and is a good 3rd string PG. He is doing very well and playing to his strengths and not trying to do too much.
Well, it’s always there if he starts playing a grocery boy again. I may just keep calling him that because it’s easier to type out in the game time chat!
I dunno, he still looks like an accountant, tax man, bus bench lawyer to me. I’m sure there’s a good nickname to be had there. IRS comin for you. Accountant puttin up numbers tonight. “My name is Alex H Caruso and I’ll fight for you!”
He looked very good , made the right passes , split the PNR ... Keep gaining experience and he might become a reliable backup PG in the league
