I always liked Bogut and his playing time at Center more so than Lopez. In many ways, Bogut was the anti-Lopez because he brought defense, hard screens, better passer. His passing made our half court offense flow much better than the garbage that we’ve been seeing. If anything, I would have preferred if we waived Lopez and kept Bogut....
He was a true professional here, if there was anything we got from him I hope it was the screen setting.
Example of what happens when the body fails you. We've seen this before unfortunately. But on a brighter side, we're freeing up a roster spot because a big move is coming.
We did Bogut a favor by providing him an opportunity to prove he's worth signing for a Playoff team. I wouldn't be surprised if cutting him was always the plan since we had so many young bigs as it was. Now we'll see slightly more Zubac/Bryant and probably more small-ball with Nance/Kuzma/Randle. We might see more Lopez (which we need). Good for Bogut. Good luck out there buddy and thanks for airing out a bit of the dirty laundry in the locker room before you left.

yeah, first i'd heard of that. that's a direct quote from him, claiming he had positive conversations with management leading up to the decision date on his contract. if he's telling the truth, that's not a good look for management. though i've always felt bogut needed to choose his words more carefully. it's possible he's salty because of the lost cash. still, though, you'd think you'd let a vet know that he was on the chopping block.
I've got a hunch the FO didn't like how vocal he was in the media about things happening in the locker room as well. It's not a great look, but I don't think anybody is losing a bunch of sleep over it.
