Could be wrong but I thought by the time you get to repeater it is more brutal than that. Maybe that's at the 2 strikes level.
it could be as much as 300mill in total with taxes, but like i said its not whether they can or cant, its if theyre willing
If they weren’t willing to keep Durant, Westbrook AND Harden together, I don’t know what’s changed, unless they got a new owner.
Magic and Rob will be judged on PG coming here. Pure and simple. If PG is here this summer, Magic and Rob have done their jobs. Because once PG commits here, the dominos will start to fall in favor of the Lakers.
i'm going to assume you're rolling your eyes at me... and find it absolutley f***ing astounding that 80% of the site wants the coach fired because he couldn't take a bunch of 20-year olds (not a star in the bunch, and not close) to a record better than last year's, but most of these same people aren't calling for the heads of the true architects of this season's failure. and i'm serious: if i ran a billion-dollar entertainment organization and sold the stakeholders on the idea that toughing it out for this season would deliver a big offseason next year...and then bupkus...i'd definitely resign. cuz honor. which apparently people no longer understand. incredulous look returned.
I respect the honor approach, but to give someone 1 year to produce or resign is just too short. Rookies don’t usually produce until their 3rd year, especially the young ones. A typical business plan, at least traditionally, was 5yrs. Nowadays it’s probably shorter with our faster instant results world. I would give them 3yrs to produce results where you are sure the direction of the organization is going in the right direction and that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Kobe's amused expression isn't rolling eyes. It's more like really you think Magic is going to do that? And then same question for you as who do we get to coach if Luke were to be suddenly fired? Who you got in mind that we should now have as president of the organization once Magic does what you expect him to for honor if PG does't come? Amused is not condescending like rolling eyes.
Good news. OKC lost to the lowly Suns. PG is definitely going to the Lakers. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
hes just implying of magic "dont cash checks your mouth cant deliver".....he talked up a good gm of delivering 2max n has already sacrificed assets to do so....so if doesnt deliver this off seadin, is he much different than mitch/jim?
^^^You can't be serious? Some of our fanbase seriously has me perplexed at the moment. Jim promised Laker contention within a time frame. Meanwhile Mag/Rob has stated the obvious...that we have the opportunity to sign 2 max type stars. Opportunity does not equate to a promise. If anything, LA is presently sitting on 47M in cap for this summer...so what most of you should be anticipating is how they will open the remaining cap to have the opportunity at signing 2 max level guys. If they don't deliver on that "promise" of opening up 60M+ then we can start questioning their motives. They're already different than Jim/Mitch in that they "promised" they wouldn't be careless with the cap space we do open up. Unless you guys prefer MozDeng reyuck...ah redux.
mitch/jim promised contention by SIGNING max lvl fa.....just cause magic/Rob wont moz/deng us doesnt mean theyre any better than mitch/jim...same big talk n failures of not delivering
eh, the made their own clock by punting the season. they traded talent for cap space, then talked up getting more cap space while refusing to sign players for more than one year, despite guys wanting to sign here. so, i agree in general, but they did this to themselves, imo. had they pursued guys with multi-year offers, struck out, and signed one-years, i'd think differently. got it. as for who...i'd honestly promote west, which is what i thought they'd do before. jim was the one who set a timetable, not mitch, who was a victim in all of this d****** sibling infighting. sounds like you're largley agreeing with those you're chastising: if they can't reel in a big fish, what was all this for? people should feel duped. if they can reel in the big fish(es), then the negative nellies owe them an apology.
Duped? That's how I felt last year. You don't throw money at someone just cause you have it. We're all frustrated with how free agency had gone to that point...But maybe, some of these guys didn't want to be in Kob's shadow. So we wait for Kobe to finally come off the books (via retirement) and for what? MozDeng...You f***in’ serious? You bring in pieces like Mozgov, Deng and for that matter, even George Hill/Zbo, to round out a contender...Not to babysit kids (which is why ZBo and Hill consequently want out of Cowtown). The Lakers last year didn't have a contender so why commit to aging veterans that have no interest in player development. No disrespect, but one had a thick Russian accent while the other is a Sudanese Brit (so god knows how they sound...But these are the dudes that are going to connect to kids like BI, DLo and Randle...Really? If Kobe couldn't get through to the latter two, then how the f*** did Mitch think MozDeng would? With Kobe since vacated, LA needs at least one star. If we don't get one this summer, you field a stop gap team till you either groom one or inherit one (in a nasty divorce ie disgruntled star via trade/free agency). No more goddamn MozDengs ever! And if management throws a bag at a 2nd tier player/non-star then it's cause we already locked up a star and we're just some roster tweaks away from making a long and successful title run. Till then, 20xx plan the f*** out this team. We need our next star...Like yesterday! Btw, pardon my French, Russian, Britanese, whatever the f*** you want to call it... But fans s***ting on our current FO just to make Mitch/Jimbo look semi-decent has me all types of f***ed up right now. Sorry if I'm coming off disrespectful, but I gots none to give for the previous regime.
