They wouldn't be playing music, joking and chillin with Kobe around. Not with the performances like they had lately Oh and... Sasha 2.0
For as hard of a time we give Kevin Ding at times, the man knows how to get them quotes. Fun, good read. Love these inside stuff that much of the fans don't know about:
lol, what does jimmy butler have to do to get fan respect? i think he's actually the best sg in the game. anyway, back to lonzo: curious to see what kind of impact his return has. hard to believe a rookie guard who's still adjusting means that much, but maybe he does?
Great article. And it emphasizes many of the things I've thought aloud here - we need Lonzo badly. Like PG said, he's the engine of this team. Without him we are hardly watchable and not nearly as competitive. I also like what his father taught him about losing - get yourself back up and start again. Last game sucked, but here's a new chance to start winning again Friday night against Charlotte. I'm looking forward to the game.
Yeah I'm not sure what not to love about Jimmy Buckets , plus he's a tough SOB . He's clearly the main reason why Sota has improved
the two teams that clearly leaped a tier this year (bos and minny) each traded lotto picks (current and/or recent) for established under-30 stars. just sayin'.
And they didn’t alienate their young players in the process. Amazing what you can do when you aren’t following a 20xx plan. Who we cannibalizing next year for the 2019 plan?
That's our plan for next year. We'll be trading off some young talent as part of signing big guns. Pretty much sure of it since there is too many players at the same positions.
To be fair, it took Boston YEARS to finally trade picks for a star and they also had an All-Star to help a deal. They also got the player they really wanted in this draft AND got to keep Brown from last year, where had we given up the #2 or Ingram we don’t match said they did. What Minny and OKC did is more impressive, but I still think Indy didn’t want to deal with us no matter what, and Minny had more attractive pieces. On topic, if Lonzo plays, I’ll most likely watch again.
Minny got really lucky with the balls dropping in their favor for the Number 1 pick. OKC did it right, until they let Harden go. Offensive schemes aside, I still think we're going the Golden State route in building. Although they never really had a big FA plan, they kept the pieces to the team that were working and started to build around them. I think we are now in that position with Ball, Ingram, and Kuz. If we can get solid pieces at SG and C to surround them, we will be in good shape. If it happens to be Paul George and Cousins, by all means.
gsw only needed minor additions to go from good to great (until kd). i thought they overpaid for iggy but hes been the perfect addition for them now...we on the other hand need stars to enhance a cast of players that still has question marks, if ball/ingram could turn into impactful players like steph/klay it would be a different story
we are still only in years 1 and 2 with those guys. so really, we're still just beginning imo. if we are able to bring bigger names in, i'm sure that'll help expedite the process with ball and ingram as well. we're just scratching the surface now, but i firmly believe ball/ingram/kuz will be our core from here on out.
