+1. Fisher did have trouble with quicker guards for most of his career. In retrospect, I recall he was an OK defender early on, then badly injured his foot in 2001, missed a bunch of games (62 regular season)...never been the same since after that.
Watching Hart last night, he showed good form on his shot. Played decent D, keeping his cover in front of him. The few times, Hart guarded Butler, he made him work for his makes. Stayed on his hip on screens. Butler's just the better player. Smartly switched on perimeter defense. In the paint, he boxed out on Gibson and even Towns a few times. Hard for those bigs to go over a small, stocky guard taking away your lower base. His handles is still suspect off half court sets but then again he never tries to do something on his own. Kept the rock moving...
He belongs in the League, and you can tell he knows it now. Is it just me, or is BI starting to feel less "untouchable" He's been off lately, and others are stepping up during that time.
BI looked really invisible this game save for the last couple minutes where we kept giving him the ball for some isos. Hart on the other hand was everywhere this game. BI still untouchable for me though.
Yep. Until he falls off a cliff or something I’m not giving up on a potential Durant 2.0. Not that I’m saying he’ll be as good, but what he’s done in only his 2nd season, I see a bright future. Wouldn’t trade him for anyone, not even Boogie... or PG.
Tough crowd for BI. Remember his age and experience... he is definitely an untouchable. I love Hart he is going to be a great player for the Lakers. But just like Kuzma, Hart has benefited tremendously from playing at least 3 years in college (Hart 4 years). Hart also won a national championship with Villanova. Obviously, if BI had a couple more years of college he would be further along in his development.
I love this kid. This kid is absolutely perfect depth. All he needs is consistency on his jumper and for goodness sake he's just a rookie. He's got a long way to improve and he's already a solid role player. I wasn't convinced he'd be enough of a creator at this level, but **** does he just make all the right decisions on the floor.
Love the consistent effort he brings on both ends of the court. Starting to feel comfortable with that outside shot, even plays solid D on players bigger than he is. He should be getting Clarkson's minutes if Clarkson isn't hitting shots, plain and simple.
Pleasant surprise. Kudos once again to our scout team. 3 keepers so far, and a guy killing it in G League when he’s there. Pretty good haul for a rebuilding team.
I've always liked Josh Hart and was thrilled we got him in the draft. I was concerned however that Clarkson was playing perfectly in the sixth man role and that though Hart is a better defender, he wouldn't be able to score anywhere near as well as Clarkson has been able to. Lately, however, with the increased PT and his own improvement Hart is demonstrating to me that he is an upgrade over Clarkson. He isn't as versatile a scorer, but his defense has just been outstanding and he plays more within the flow of the offense. He's finally getting that three point shooting up to a decent percentage (the first month or two he was at 12% from deep!), and he's showing so much higher of a Bball IQ than both Clarkson and KCP that I think he would be just fine taking their place.
He just seems to understand the game and knows where to be and when and how to play. So many of the young players drafted are taken based on athleticism and potential, but so few actually understand the game like this. It's really noticeable. I'm sure Luke really appreciates having guys like Larry and him who just "get it" Might not be A-1 talent level, but he'll have a 10 yr career in the league if he stays healthy
That dive on the floor for the ball on defense when we were in OT against HOU where right after that play he had an And-1 on offense just is ingrained in my head. I love everything Josh is about. His outside shot has vastly improved as well. He's my 2nd favorite Laker behind Kuzma.
he must be moving up everyone's list right now I had no idea who he was before this season, and not seeing him in Summer League made him an afterthought to me. Boy was I wrong! What a great pickup.
I'm surprised at myself still nervous when he shoots the 3 because he's been shooting the Js and the 3s really well for the last couple of weeks. Love the Guy! Not even sure no homo. He's got this .... swagger .... to him. I keep coming back to the years he spent staying in college in a Major program and being part of winning an NCAA title 2 games in front of 75,000 people.
He's also very well-coached. Jay Wright is a helluva coach. After Luke is fired, I hope he gets some consideration.
I don’t know how nba salaries work, can we just waive KCP and give Hart his minutes? Kidding. Sort of.. No, I’m not. Buy him out for more than we signed him for, just go the f away.
