Sirron, you're exactly right. The percentage of those who jump to the pros is so small (likely single digits) and most of those guys benefit from playing in college. Even then to stay in the league is even more difficult. While LaMelo has more skills than his brother LiAngelo, he needs a lot of work that would have come from playing in college. Now that both brothers have signed with an agent, they are both precluded from playing in college. Stupid move by LaVar.

I was thinking the other day about some guys that were in the NBA and just faded away... trying to hang on. I remember playing college football and seeing guys that had played on my college team trying to crack the pros. They chased their dream, which required many sacrifices and none of them made it. They were good players. There is so much required to get to that level with above average talent (and some luck) and having a D-1 platform like UCLA would have given the brothers a much better chance.

It is so sad. I really feel bad for those boys. LaMelo should have grown a pair and told his dad that he wanted to stay in HS with his friends. He will never be able to get those years back where he could still be a kid.

LiAngelo should have said: "Dad, I'm going to take my punishment like a man and be totally accountable by staying at UCLA."

i actually believe that, at this point going overseas is the best situation for both of the younger Balls. At college they would continue to act and be treated like royalty, despite having not accomplished anything yet. Go play overseas with some professional, grown men that will show them just how far they have to go. Live somewhere out of your comfort zone. This might be the best thing that could happen for both LiAngelo and LaMelo.

I like how both Luke and Zo have handled a potential Lavar distraction.

Seriously doubt this could be the best thing. Staying in school for both of them would have been the best. Maybe when Gelo had reality hit him in the face he wasn't likely to be drafted after year one the correct decision to stick around for at least another year of school could have been made for his future. And Melo, who as OX has said, looks like a little girl with orange hair and is a gunner and plays no D .... is going to flourish somehow as a skinny 16 year old without even finishing HS playing against grown a** men? Or more accurately not playing. And with the great educational background on his future job resumes.

Although you did qualify it with "at this point". After knee jerk, jack** LaVar did to both of them what he did in the past 5 weeks.

Overseas is a different animal than what college would have been for these two. Overseas is only easy if you were semi good in the NBA or have a recognizable name. Plus, these two don't seem to have the personality to be able to handle the struggles over there. Living in s***ty hotels, possibly not getting paid until the end of the season and even then its based on your performance.

Lavar really messed up with these two and if you haven't hated him yet, now is a good time. Two young lives potentially ruined because of your dad's pettiness? Inexcusable.

So whats the reputation of these leagues?
Is playing in Eastern Europe worth Lavar going big headed and pulling those two out of the system here?

Still don't think LiAngelo and LaMelo have the personality and mental maturity to do well over there. And how long before Lavar thinks he can run the Lithuanian League.

My prediction is he's going to find out brands don't do well when everyone hates the guy behind the brand. The more he keeps up this all about ME act the more people will turn off. What father or mother wants to fork over $500 for this clown's shoes for their kid?

The only thing that brand is going to have going for it at some point not far off is Lonzo. And he may be enough. More power to HIM, not his jerk of a father.

He knows basketball so damn well how come he let his son grow up without fixing that stupid shot. Wish someone would call him on that in the media. Spin it anyway you like whether they are going in or not, it is a lousy form and will lways be at least somewhat of a problem for him as it limits certain situations to get it off in.

Hope this happens, and I hope Lavar goes with them, for a long, long time.
