I liked the shot , wanted to silence the crowd and hit it in BS face ... don't play scared .. I know it's not a smart decision but I liked it
Yeah. This Ball I like; he is going to struggle with consistency I guess; but I like seeing glimpses of the future when he plays like this...
It really wasn’t a bad shot. They gave it to him, uncontested, and it was a 2 for 1 situation. He just needs to keep getting there. Remember, Kobe air balled many threes early in his career. The point is that he made he decision to take it, had the balls to take it, and didn’t hesitate. Next time, if he has the same opportunity, you go back and execute.
Great aggressive play from the start. Loved his game. I still hate the early shot clock three pointers. It almost cost us the game down the stretch. But the last play was beautiful. Drive and kick. And is there a reason we don't do more of that with the starters? Drive and kick should be a staple. I feel like too often we are settling for bad shots with the starting unit. Tonight was different. Great game from Lonzo, almost got the triple double. Stellar defense out there.
^^^^ It's easier when the opponent doesn't match in transition and makes mistakes ( Covington and Simmons had no reason to leave their man) but yeah we should do it more often.
That trey wasn't a bad miss... I was shocked Ball took it with so many seconds left on the clock. 2 for 1 deal.
Kobe could shoot though. That’s the big difference. I hate that shot because that isn’t Lonzo’s game as we all know and the big reason he was so successful all night was that he wasn’t settling all night and he took the ball aggressively to the hole.
Eh. It was a pretty good shot. He was open, the clock was running down, the defense wasn't expecting it. It was just a bit long but if he drills it, that's probably the game. Again as a coach I'm not ecstatic about the shot, but it's not that bad either and it's a positive sign that Lonzo had the heart to take it in that scenario with that pressure admin that stadium that had been giving him a really hard time all night.
0 turnovers was an impressive stat. Those 7 steaks even more so. Please let this game be the start of Ball bouncing back.
Especially with the pace Zo pushes the ball up court in traffic. Has to be one of the faster or fastest guys in the league when he's in top gear with his dribble.
Its so crystal clear to be that Magic is echoing and doing the kind of things Jerry Buss did for him when he was a rookie. Hanging out, talking about life, and being there for him. Yes he is Lonzo's boss, but Jerry was so much more to Magic as well and Earvin wants to do the same with his rookie. It was very cool to watch that video piece and see those similarities. Definitely looking forward to this after the game tonight.
Lonzo, after 25 games: 8.6 points 6.8 rebounds 7.1 assists 1.4 steals 1.0 blocks 32.1% FG 24.6% 3PT 47.1% FT Lonzo is still solidly in 6th place in assists at 169. He is behind Draymond, Simmons, LeBron, Harden, and Westbrook. The five names ahead of him are all in the Top 20 in total turnovers, Lonzo is not. Lonzo has fallen outside of the Top 20 in Steals and Blocks. Lonzo has 34 steals (20th place has 39) and 24 blocks (20th place has 31). Lonzo is however tied for 20th in steals among all guards (which again includes LeBron somehow) and he's 4th in blocks among guards behind Oladipo, Danny Green, and uh... LeBron James. Lonzo is strongly in 4th place among guards in rebounds at 171 boards. He's definitely behind Westbrook (232), Simmons (228), and uh... LeBron (223), but he's ahead of Lowry (156), Jaylen Brown (150), and Oladipo (139). Lonzo is not close to the Top 20 in fouls which is impressive given his steals and blocks totals.
