I think we'd still need another max player because without one, George is less likely to come over. Right now, any FA has to be looking at LA thinking it's a solid start, but even we fans admit that one max FA doesn't mean contention. A FA is unlikely to take that leap without contention.

Adding George and someone else really makes me think we could be in the top 6 or so of the conference pretty easily, maybe even better if the young kids keep developing.

If Ingram and Ball continue to play like last night, and if we can dump Deng to somehow keep Randle, LBJ and PG13 are coming. No doubt in my mind.

Agreed. I already think the path has been set, the road is lit, and there's one of those guys with the little light wands helping FAs land in LA, but we desperately need more games like last night. If we play like that against every team, we're probably a .500 team or better because that's the best team in the league and we took them to OT without really seemingly like a fluke. They were shook up late in that game.

Getting rid of Deng is going to be crucial.

I don’t think they’d want Lopez, they have Adams already and he actually tries. KCP, possibly. I’d offer what we would have to Indy, Randle, Clarkson, picks, another young player (Zu?). Doubt they take any offer from us, but hey, if they had Randle, Melo could go back to SF, and that’s a balanced starting lineup.

okc didnt give up as much for pg themselves, im only considering the value of sabonis/vic as okc player, not pacers stats

That’s not how trades work. You don’t get fleeced because you fleeced someone (although did Indy after all? They look pretty good, oladipo is free to score not next to Westbrook), you remain a smart front office and make smart trades. I offer up Clarkson and Randle because we keep talking about trading JC and not resigning Randle to make room for George anyway. This saves us the time, gets PG here now, and then we still have Lopez’s giant expiring, and our last hurdle is Deng.

ok if you just base trade value on current production then pg # have decline n in addition okc troubled situation, the "rental" value is still applicable to pg with every other team

I factored that into my offer. George is a star, we’d be giving up a bench role player, a player we probably don’t intend to re-sign, and a pick or two. Actually looking at what Indy got for George, that’s actually better than what I’m proposing based on play this season. Oladipo is averaging 23 and 5, Sabonis 13 and 9, and they have a 12-10 record.

thats not how trades work either, if vic #s were like that in okc he wouldvenever gotten traded...jc #s is almost the same as okc odalipo n randle is leaps n bounds better than okc sabonis n okc didnt even give up any picks
