I think Caruso over a year could improve with playing time G League and this summer. Tall, some D and grit, not a bad athlete and can shoot some. Work on his handles. A champion ..... SL with Lonzo out the big game.

pre-draft, back when we still had russell, i envisioned ball playing off the ball in a lot of halfcourt sets. but that's back when i thought he could shoot. it would be pretty pointless at the moment, tbh.

His shooting is costing us games. We have lost so many close games that an even 40% shooting Lonzo would have us at .500 basketball. Last night is a prime example.

it's not the only thing costing us games, but it is a pretty consistent detrimental factor.

i didn't watch the second half last night (thankfully, it appears), but he let himself disappear for long stretches in the first half again. i could live with him being a bad shooter if he was always contributing in other ways.

Lonzo is actually a great cutter and a good extra passer, so I would be happy to see a player with more creativity operating with Lonzo off the ball. His shooting would definitely be a struggle still.

Weren't we using Ingram at point forward last season to help Russell? Could use that again in a pinch... Pope definitely isn't. I'd trust Kuzma initiating the offense more than either him or Clarkson.

In the offseason, Lonzo needs to work on his shooting mechanics. He needs to totally reconstruct his shot. It's that bad.

If I were the coaching staff, I would have him start right away. He isn't a threat to shoot so why not?

I read an article on ESPN that quoted LaVar saying that Lonzo was already better than Curry. I don't remember LaVar saying that but if he truly did, the man is a dutiful father but delusional. If Lonzo wasn't such a great passer and sneaky good in other areas, he wouldn't even be playing in the league. His shooting is horrendous. No other way to describe it.

I thought last night's game was okay. He had some nice defensive plays but he was much too passive on offense. He settled for jump shots rather than driving to the hoop and making things happen.

I fully realize that there will be ups and downs with him but he could've really impacted the game if he was putting pressure on the D by driving and kicking. I see flashes every game but he needs to be consistently aggressive.

in how many ways was the doc rivers acquisition the death of that franchise's brief attempt at resurgence?
