Guess 6ers heard me when I said they need to move MCW. Interesting shuffle for the Suns. Moving both Thomas and Dragic. Guess they realized the 3 PG system doesn't work. Jesus, 76ers get yet another pick. Do they have all the 1st round picks in this draft yet?
wow i was not expecting this not sure if moving knight is a good idea for the bucks, he's been outstanding for them this season
I don't know what the Suns are doing. It's like they panicked and just said eff it. Knight is a nice player, but he is also due to be paid after this season as a RFA. Going to have to overpay for him to stay on a team that has already pissed off 3 PGs (Bledsoe, IT, Dragic). They were a team that was pushing playoffs, now they went back to rebuilding it seems.
@Doc Brown Knight's contract is a big reason the Bucks were wanting to move him. Also Knight is more of a two guard than a true PG, they already have that with Bledsoe. I think Suns and the 76ers were the biggest losers today. Suns change the entire makeup of their team and give away the 1st from us. 76ers, a team who already has 25 picks, traded away their two biggest assets for more picks.
I mean, Knight is pretty good, but isn't IT on a friendlier contract a better deal? AND they gave up their pick?
The Suns know we're getting the pick this season and we have plans to jump the rebuild this summer. I'm thinking in regards to that pick they realize it's not as valuable once we get our Top 5 pick this summer. As for their roster decisions... makes no sense to me. Now they're stuck in a half rebuild with assets that aren't quite enough to win but that they have to build around. Talk about panic.
Suns better hope Knight views the franchise in a better light than Dragic did. Otherwise, even with the picks, that an awful haul. Those picks won't be worth much. The '17 from Miami and '16 from CLE are both worthless.
Also, I'd like to point out that I think the Bucks had a very good day today. They didn't want to pay Knight this summer. They got the ROY in MCW who I think can really develop under Kidd's tutelage. They wanted a big with Sanders gone and Plumlee fills that need and should get some more burn in Milwaukee. I think this helps them entering the playoffs and going forward. The sheer length and talent with MCW, Parker, and Giannis -- I like it.
I don't understand why everybody is down on the Bucks. MCW is a great player. and is there a better coach for him than Jason Kidd? he's the master of the triple double. watch out of MCW and the Bucks next year. they also got Plumlee to strengthen the bigs with the whole Larry Sanders thing. On paper the Suns didn't do something thatbad. the whole point of 3 PG was stupid, and the concept of a backcourt pf Knight and Bleadsoe is solid. but they changed the whole team so they are probably gonna fall hard this season.
@ShowTime_IR I'm with you on the Bucks. But I think the Suns had an awful day yesterday. They gave away IT and Dragic for nothing. Next year's pick from Cleveland has no value. The '17 pick from Miami has no value unless Bosh has to retire. And the '21 pick, that's too far away for it to matter. They gave up their premium asset with our pick. Even if it's a pick in the mid teens next year (which I think it will be), that's better than two of these three picks, IMO. Putting 3 PGs on a team and trying to start them was a terrible idea, that's on them. I don't blame them for trying to rectify it, but they got hosed. Every one they got in the trade will either be bought out or will become a FA this summer. And they handled the Dragic situation very poorly. They waited to meet with his agent until last week. They could've gotten ahead of this thing and found out where Dragic's head was at and move him while they still had some power. By waiting until the 12th hour, Dragic came out publicly and forced their hand because he wasn't going to waste the rest of the season on that ball club. If they don't/can't keep Knight this summer, because that's what scared the Bucks into moving him, then this trade is even more of a colossal fail. The Suns are historically cheap, so if he does leave this summer it wouldn't shock me.
Can you imagine Knight leaving this summer? Can you imagine if PHILLY offered him a max deal as an RFA? Then the Suns lost EVERYTHING for... a few late firsts. Crazy.
