Somehow Russell has been pretty consistent lately....21/5/6 is actually pretty impressive for his age, especially since has has the Nets being competitive most nights.

His averages look solid, but he's not really all that consistent. He's still basically the same kid he was here, he just has more freedom and opportunity in Brooklyn.

He was gifable. I miss that.

besides that, I'm going to choose to roll with the front office and a proven winner like Magic. Yeah, maybe he and Trump shouldn't tweet, but his record on the court and in business is pretty awesome. (I'm going to ignore the coaching stint lol)

Probably you are right. But its still very impressive to average 21/5/6 in 27 mpg...his 36 mpg average are pretty insane. With that said, one has to ask why he never plays more than that in 3 years. Either its conditioning, lack of D or something...its not explainable why all coaches play him like 27-28 mpg.

I think it's because he doesn't do enough of the small things needed to win. Part of what would have made him a good fit next to Lonzo is Lonzo nearly always does small things to win, but Russell doesn't have that kind of focus. Russell can hit the big shot, but he can also dribble off his foot out of bounds when you need a bucket.

D’Angelo Russell had knee arthroscopic surgery to remove loose bodies. Won’t offer timetable for return.

Nets just had their best win of the year.

    Without him.

    Coincidence?

Seems like DAR has been bowling with Bynum.

It would be a shame for this to halt or inhibit his career, but it would get some closure around here and make Magic look like a soothsayer.

He was doing well-enough. Lin would have helped him and I think a future pairing w/another guard who can initiate the offense will help him.

    Get well, D-LO

Watching Russ struggle or sit with injury doesn’t make me feel better, all it does these days is make me think about how we could have taken Porzingis. That said, I know nobody wanted him in the moment and that is all hindsight, and I doubt we’d have been patient to let him get to the 27 ppg he’s averaging this season. Because as we all know, rookies are what they’re going to be in their rookie year.

Anyway Kupcrap claims Zinger was third on our board, that's our consolation, but of course he'll still get fired for maxing some over the hill vet big man to mentor Porzingod

He wasn't the only one. Many of the beat writers said as much right after the draft. It annoyed a couple of us Okafor fans (whoops!) at the time.

Definitely would be nice to have him in there with Lonzo and Ingram. Hot damn.

yeah, would have loved to pick 4th that year instead of 2nd. totally would have grabbed zinger. would have had low expectations and we'd be in great shape right now.

Hindsight is 20/20 but its fun to imagine a core of Ball/Ingram/Porzingas going forward.
