OK I tried. Urban Dictionary doesn't have SOD. What are we talking about here with Kuzma?

I am calling a big bounce-back game for Lonzo against the Suns. Why, because that is what Balls do.

The plays might be broken at the moment, but the player is not. I believe he can end up being stronger by this trial by fire. I am more worried about our contract/curse of the Kupchak's Loul Deng playing positionless basketball at the moment by riding the pine and putting lock down D on our cap space.

Ball does not need to get benched, and those people suggesting the G league for him? (lol). Place your faith in him, give him the season, a shooting coach and though we have beaten down the last few seasons, lets steel our resolve.

That announcer is full of it. Lonzo's don't ever come that close to going in.

I'm not sure I've ever seen this level of abject hatred. Even Kobe was mostly a darling early on in his career.

This kid gets so much hate another team's announcers are going to bring him up in a game that Lonzo isn't even playing? Are they doing that to De'Aaron Fox? Or even better are they doing that to Jonathan Isaac?

I'm excited to see how Lonzo responds. The media hatred towards this kid is profoundly disappointing and it's sad that it's affecting him and it's affecting how we as fans are viewing him as well.

Let's be honest. Thanks Pops. All that has not helped, especially when the old man is responsible for letting him grow up with hideous form on his shot.

I can't say this enough: I don't give a s*** about the form on his shot. There's been worse that have been successful. It's a narrative at this point that I just won't entertain. Shawn Marion, Kevin Martin, Reggie Miller, Jamaal Wilkes, Michael Adams.

There's been people with strange forms that make it work. The problem isn't the form, it's his lack of consistency. Every shot is different, every landing spot is different, every take spot is different. Watch how repeated Kuzma's shot and form are. They're nearly the same every time and he rarely misses left or right. Lonzo right now is catapulting the ball every chance he gets because he has zero confidence in the shot. Unfortunately that lack of confidence leaked into the rest of his game last night and now there's Laker fans calling the kid a bust again which is a travesty. God forbid a young man has a bad game.

And yes his dad brought this on him and this is the type of struggle I expected to find in a young player with insane expectations. You'd hope that national media wouldn't be so petty, but when Lonzo is dominating this league, I'll eagerly be looking for everyone who called him a bust.

Yes I know you feel that way and everything you say about the rest of the inconsistencies in his form is true. But let's not pretend that for a shot from a guy who doesn't get much elevation shooting it, starting it from a couple inches above the wrong shoulder in the NBA against great athletes contributes as well. Hated Marion's the worst until this. At least he jumped. And Lonzo clearly has hops.

Kevin Martin jumped about as much as Lonzo does.
Shawn Marion didn't jump a whole lot.
Jamaal had a long, winding shot and didn't always elevate like a traditional jump shooter.
This is what Lonzo looks like when he's successful taking the shot.

I'm not naive enough to think it isn't a factor at all, but I think it's a factor in that Lonzo is beginning to doubt his own effectiveness. My point isn't that his shot is fine, it's that he doesn't need an overhaul of his shot form. His shot form is what it is at this point and all he needs to do is practice more and gain consistency.
