True, Ingram was a poor shooter pre-ASB last year, but he was still at 45.2 TS%. Lonzo takes it to a new level of bricking at 35.0 TS% which is the worst (by far) in the league.

Here's his shot chart in college by the way.

@Doc Brown brings up a valid point about his lower body and it's definitely a factor in the inconsistency, but Lonzo said himself that it's "in his head" so his mechanics are not fully responsible for his shooting woes. In which case needs to visit a sports psychologist. I'm not taking the "he'll be fine" approach. I haven't given up on him turning it around this season.

so...in 2031, we can expect him to suddenly be able to hit standstill threes (and nothing else)?

    He's labeled a bust because he's a Laker.
If he was playing for Boston or Philly, the media would be shoving his near triple doubles down our throats while bashing more of Fultz.

I would feel exactly like I do now: the kid is special, but he's got some flaws to fix. The flaw that many of us saw from the beginning: shooting inconsistency (ineffectiveness right now). But he's been a far better defender than he was expected to be (and I thought he'd be a pretty good defender), a transcendent passer, and he makes all the little plays that help wins games. He's a great young player and he's a tremendous piece to build around.

I believe you, but as far as the rest of the fan base? Probably not so sympathetic.

I think Lonzo's a better all around scorer than Kidd at 19 years old. The thing that is absolutely killing him is that he can't lay off those threes. He seems determined to prove to everyone that he can make them but it's destroying his percentages and he should stop doing so much of it.

He has the three point range, I saw it in college (yes I know the line is closer but he would pull up from WAY beyond it and make them). The difference is those were rhythm shots and they were daggers that he would pull out a couple of times a game not "prove it to you" bricks that don't stand much chance to go in.

He needs to be more aggressive to the rack IMO and he's fantastic for off ball back door cuts if you actually screen for him but our offense looks pretty rudimentary thus far. He's mainly been tasked with setting up the offense and with firing up the fast break if it's there. He's got more in his arsenal and he's got a ton of upside. The three needs to be deemphasized by the coaches. So far they seem to be encouraging him to take those and I think that's a bad message.

Anyone else think Lonzo looks up near the top of fastest guys in the league pushing the ball in the open court?

No we can expect Lonzo took take some time to be able to develop as a shooter like most players.

Congratulations Lonzo, you will be the best PG since magic it's just a matter of time and getting better and better every off season. Youngest to triple double in NBA history

Hell of a game, 3-5 on threes, 7-12 overall, 19, 13, 12, 3 blocks, 3 steals. Took a record away from LeBron with only 5 days to go, gotta love that. If he actually had shooters around him we’d be winning more games.

It's a testament to his greatness to achieve this with non existent shooters...
