I wonder if when Deng demanded to be traded if he expected teams to start offering up things to the Lakers like with Eric Bledsoe. Does he actually think he has any value around the league? Are he and his agent so delusional that they think teams see him and that contract and think he's an attractive asset? Deng not only wants to be responsible for us wasting millions of dollars on him, he wants us to lose draft picks because of his sucktitude as well.

If he wants out so bad, negotiate a reasonable buyout. No one wants that albatross contract.

There's a report out that Phoenix is going to see if they can get anything for Greg Monroe before they entertain the idea of a buyout with him.

Monroe would be a good salary dump candidate because he is a huge expiring contract at $17.8. Deng fits perfectly salary wise to swap, but we would have to give up assets for Phoenix to even consider helping us remove salary. We would probably have to do Deng+Clarkson+Randle for Monroe+Tyson Chandler or Jared Dudley.

I'm not sure how Phoenix views Clarkson or Randle, but both do fit their rebuilding age core of Booker/Chriss/Jackson and can help with depth.

I'm not really interested in helping Phoenix out of that one. If it takes both Clarkson and Randle to dump Deng, we're making a bad move.

I'd be willing to give them Deng and a pick or Deng and Zubac or whatever the case may be, but there's probably not a good marriage there.

Mirotic allegedly told the Bulls it’s him or Portis. Does Chicago want Deng back?

i suggested this a couple pages back. get with mirotic's agent, tell him to tell chicago he wants la, and maybe he won't sue them or something? take cameron payne's lame a** back as tax. send a heavily protected 1st if necessary.

I was sure someone had suggested it already, today was just the first time I actually heard on tv (The Jump) that Mirotic asked the Bulls to make a choice. And it was implied by Nichols that they’d choose Portis. I looked it up and it appears Mirotic is on 2 year 27 mil contract, much easier to turn around and flip or trade as an expiring at draft time than Deng I’d imagine.

Mirotic would be a better back up SF than Brewer tbh here. Assuming he doesn't carry his locker room baggage here too.

Ehhh. I think hes best as a stretch four.. I just dunno about pissing off Bogut or taking min away from Randle. Cant imagine if Larry was healthy. If Randle is part of this package then it could work by playing Kuz-Mirotic-Bogut together, assuming Larry is healthy.

If we wanna leave Kuz in the starting spot then Mirotic-Nance could work if Mirotic buys in playing D. But he can run,if he once again...buys in.

The Bulls have cap space too so salaries don't have to match.

Mirotic has a team option on his second year as well so he basically has an expiring contract. If we trade for him, I believe we get his full Bird Rights. I don't think those Bird Rights would expire necessarily if we declined his option. His Cap Hold is substantial, but we could waive his rights if we had to...

    Deng/Protected 1st/Zubac for Mirotic/Payne?

I would throw Randle in if it brought Mirotic here. He would fit perfectly.

So looking back through this thread, the first 10 pages had a lot of people STOKED we signed him, but those first 10 were all before the season started. Once the season started, it took only 3 pages before people were talking about amnesty and for Sirron to start making the Deng gifs we have come to know and love.
