I hear what everyone is saying, but I'd like to give him some more time. He's a smart guy, maybe he can figure this out. I was happy when I saw him chewing Ingram there - for a "poster boy" Ingram needs to do better. Right now, Randle and Kuz deserve to start. Ingram does not.
it's waaaaayyyyy too soon for people to be calling for his head. let's not act like he's been given a decent roster to work with, he's a young HC working with a bunch of rookies and second year players but he did lose the game for them last night
I just don't understand what it is he's trying to do. The starting unit routinely gets behind. Basically every game with NBA level competition (Suns excepted because they are worse than we are) the starters either start out losing or lose leads or both. It keeps happening game after game. This time he subs them back in at the fourth and they give the game away. That lineup just has no chemistry or offensive punch. Ingram gives us very little as a starter and there is no flow to the offense. I don't think any other coach in the NBA would use Nance as a starter. He's just not good enough.
Last 2 games our 1st quarters had us outscoring them 23-18 and 26-19. We held both teams to under 20 points in the 1st quarter. Small sample size, but according to recent trends the starters are not the problem to begin games. Where Luke is losing the coaching battle is 2nd half adjustments, cause once we come out of the locker room, we're losing that 3rd quarter.
this "hes not given a good roster" is a bunch of bs, so you saying he can only coach n win with a team of all-stars? brad Stevens coached up a 5 6 guy into an mvp lvl calibre player, this is ridiculous
I have no patience because it should be year 4 of the rebuilding instead of year 2 after we wasted 14-15 and 15-16 away . I know Luke and the new FO have nothing to do with this but hey sometimes life is unfair
I agree with @432J about young guys on team..its something you do gotta consider a lil. But yeah thats why it seems Randle off the bench is good because Nance is holding it down in the 1st(been pretty consistent throughout games IMO). But against NOP we had to make a come back in the 2nd half and make adjustments.. Last year was a throw away year. This is a different team. Seems like half step backwards to get ahead one step ahead type of deal. And I'm not talking real either On to Utah ... ... :JuliusPumped 1:
And if we have to fire him, and I am Rob, I am going straight to SAS or Miami looking for Assistant coaches. Spo and Pop's coaching tree, yes sir; LOL
Well at least he seems well adjusted and liked. Unless he's yanking you from the game and starting to yell at you.
I hate this argument. Your job as a head coach is to get the most of of your talent and put them in the best positions to succeed and Luke clearly isn’t doing that. I get it if it was his first season, but we’re in Year 2 and the guy still is struggling with his rotations and getting the most out of his players. There’s plenty of coaches who don’t have the best roster and get their players to play above and beyond their talent. Luke isn’t doing that.
Yeah. No kidding. And he played under Phil who was a robot with his starting 5 players and short substitution patterns that were set virtually in stone at the start of every season. (of course he had veteran rosters as well) But still.
It's simple to me. Start Randle so the starters don't create a hole. Make sure Kuzma plays 30 min. Divide the minutes evenly between KCP, Clarkson and Hart until one proves they deserve the most minutes. Park Lopez in a corner so he can find his 3 ball. Place Wanted Ad for a shooter.
^ Basically, what he said. I'm not sure why this is so complicated for our coaching staff... I mean, I will not pretend that I know something they don't but... it's still puzzling.
