Horrible, just horrible, minutes into the season, what a shame. I’m not sure if it’s worse than PG’s, because we saw bone pop out with that one, but it didn’t look far off. Hate to see this happen to anyone, but especially a young, up and coming player on a brand new contract just starting fresh.
Damn. Pretty much everybody turned away from that. That is so horrible. He's done for a looong time. That is such a freak accident.
Just awful. I audibly yelled when I saw it. What a gruesome injury. I hate the C Bags, but I've got nothing but respect for Hayward. He seems like a nice guy, keeps his nose clean, and has improved every season. Just a brutal injury for him. I wish him the best.
Being an X-ray tech, Hayward is getting surgery tonight or in the morning especially if bone punctures the skin.. looks pretty awful.
Awful. Probably the worst I've seen since Shaun Livingston's injury. Good thing he signed a brand new contract. He can take his time to come back and heal.
Feel bad for Hayward... It might take him more than two seasons to ever get back to form. And about James?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they usually allow swelling to go down, consider all options, and then schedule surgery for a few days later (4 - 7 days). Why do you think they want to rush the surgery?
even with hayward and irving, still didn't see the C Bags beating the cavs in a 7 game series now lebron doesn't even have to bat an eyelash to get back to the finals yet again. parity in the NBA is such a joke
that was hard to watch. glad he signed a big deal first, because i don't think it's a guaranteed you come back from that. revgen mentioned livingston, and he came back. but he wasn't the same guy. such a freak injury, too. ick.
I’m no surgeon but every patient is situational. And you maybe right regarding swelling. But You have to figure in how bad the break is and the location of the injury site. Those fractures can pierce through skin and can sever arteries and veins if not properly stabilized.I’m just going by what my eyes see and that is something that you don’t see everyday in fractured bones.
Side note: my sister is an XRay tech too. In the Bay area. She occasionally works on SF 49ers, Giants and As players, as well as visiting players.
