Loved what we saw from him tonight. 12 points in 15 mins, he immediately looked like the consistent vet we need, one of the only go-to scorers we have. Throw it to him in the post and let him go to work with the inside out game, or hit him for a 3, we need him to stay healthy badly.

Yeah what the f*** was that about? Brook looked like he was wincing afterwards (obviously) too.

As for his game: looked great. Throw inside and it'll be a solid look and his two threes were absolutely clean. If he can stay on the floor, he's going to have a great year for us.

Has the slowest developing moves I've ever seen but has great touch. Lulls defenders to sleep. Those two treys in the first quarter looked good leaving his hand.

Loved having Lopez out there this game even in limited minutes. Hoping he can play more soon.

Most skilled big man we've had at the 5 since Pau. I nearly forgot how much better an offense looks with a skillful center to go to.

I think genuinely that part of this small ball era is due to a lack of big men like Brook. If more skilled bigs existed instead of DeAndre Jordans we'd see bigger basketball.

Yeah I think being precautionary with him in preseason is fine. Let him get to 100% first.

^^^I don't look at it that way. DeAndre could bypass his option and become a UFA next summer. Nerlens went to war with Dallas and still didn't get the payday he was looking for so he's a UFA next summer....same thing can be said about Alex Len. Monroe is another guy hitting free agency. Boogie of course is yet another target next summer we're well aware of. Then you can't forget about Bogut who could be looking at his one year in LA for some exposure to get one final payday. All these Cs with a limited amount of dough...Brook's got competition.

Then take into consideration that some of these teams are going to be investing their money into their own RFA players who have extensions coming up and can be signed before Oct. 16th. It looks like LA won't do it with Randle, but you got Philly who's up with Embiid, Powell got his in Toronto, Harris already got his with the Nuggets, with Jokic coming up. Also look at TJ Warren with the Suns, Bogsie with the Kings and money is getting tied up and that doesn't even consider the other key free agents for next summer like LaBron, PG, Melo, etc.

The cap is expected to lower from $102M to $101M, so essentially we're not expecting any cap spikes next summer. So with all that going on, will Brook have a market to get a lucrative deal? He's also thrilled at being a Laker and wants to stay "home"....so by trading for him we attained his Bird Rights, so why couldn't we sign him to a wink-wink one year mid-level type deal with a player option 2nd year. And then we go lock up guys like LaBron and PG, then we wait till 2019 when Brook can opt out and we give him a hefty raise where it will only cost us taxes to cap bust our team salary.

I believe its absolutely possible to do that.

Agree with the Brook Lopez part and the flexibility; he's an All-Star at his position when healthy.

That feels like embellishment to me for some reason.

    Solid, consistent scorer? Yes

Go to guy? He doesn't strike me that way for some reason. Maybe because his post moves are so slow.
