Yes. We came to that conclusion last season, right? If Simmons is healthy he’s the clear best player from last year’s draft, he was taken #1 for a reason. His only flaw is shooting, and that’s fixable. I still think Ingram can be very good to great, but he will require patience, he doesn’t have the NBA body Simmons has, and currently many here agree he’s focusing on the wrong things. Shouldn’t be trying to be a 20 ppg scorer, he should be focused on all-around game, using that length for defense, and to shoot over his defenders with a fadeaway.
-22 & 4 TOs in 22 mins of played. Most on the team, yet some people on here think he's improving? absolutely 0 basketball IQ. I will bring a pillow to the game so you can sleep easier on the defensive end.
I've pretty much said many times what I think of Julius. What you see is what you get. That's Randle. Fans thinking players can transform their games through a couple of off-seasons are delusional. You must have the talent and use the off-season for consistency and fine tuning. If after 3 years your game looks clunky and forced, well that is what you are.
Sort of semantics, but I look at it more as "skill" instead of "talent" because evaluating Julius he's born with a ton of natural talent. He's still a unique physical specimen, he's just not all that bright on the court. I agree for the most part though which is why I'm intrigued by Kuzma, Ingram, Ball, and to a lesser extent at this point Zubac. All of them show more cerebral games. However, if you accept what you're saying and then apply it, then why is everyone so f***ing hard on the kid? He is who he is: an athletic monster who works hard and can impact games. He's not going to lead us into the future, nobody is claiming that anymore. It's become clear he won't develop into Draymond, that's okay too. Julius can still be a valuable player on a team and he's more valuable right now than any of our other PFs if you assume Kuzma is a SF; and if we're all honest with ourselves on Kuzma, Randle does things better than him too. Randle is going to make his mistakes and he's going to force things, but he's also going to control the glass and provide excellent athleticism. At this point the hate on the kid is just way over the top, but I guess with Russell gone we need another young guy to beat up on. Ingram's time is coming soon and right after that we'll start beating up Lonzo.
yep. this is why the russell trade and subsequent discussion thereof bothered me. this cycle will repeat itself.
Russell and Randle hate is warranted. They are lazy, unmotivated, mentally weak players. BI? He tries, he is playing hard. Problem is he might not be talented enough. But I will give him until the end of the year. I am not gonna get on him too much. Unfortunately, I do not see superstar there at the moment.
randle certainly doesn't look lazy or unmotivated to me. and what's the evidence for ingram's mental strength? this is exactly what i'm talking about.
Randle Lazy? Now you're just messin' with people. He's many things, but I don't think lazy is one of them actually.
I'm not convinced these kids don't work hard. If anything I think its part of the frustration they feel (yes even Russell) when they are trying to do what is asked of them and working as hard as they can but still get trashed by fans and even the front office. Randle's not lazy. He's just limited in what he can do during games.
