Good Read. Really looking forward to Randle's year. He's got all the reasons both individual and as a team to be the best he's ever been.
That's a better version of what I've been trying to tell people. I'm still 100% open to moving him if we know big stars are coming, but I like Julius. I think he's primed to have a good year. He's always been a unique, versatile talent. I'm hoping he has a strong season.
Spot on article that hits all of the so many areas of Julius's game to be excited about in this his 3rd season. I expect him to be a beast and can't wait to see him, and Nance now too with the physical upgrade ....on the floor this year. :JuliusPumped 1:
At this point, I feel like talk is cheap. Like everyone else who is a fan, I'm ready for results. If you can't deliver, please sit down. Next to Deng.
there are lots of guys in great shape that never become great players Corey Magette comes to mind. Solid but unspectacular. That's who he is unless he improves his skills. I really want him to, but after years of losing, I guess I'm in more of a wait and see mindset right now.
But you sound like he plateaued after his rookie season. He made great strides in many areas last year. When he was FAT. Why would you not be a little more glass half full on Julius this season? Especially when it's the most important basketball season of his life. Contract year.
I agree he's trending upwards, but with a well stocked position with talent, and potentially a PF in FA for small ball, he's going to have to do more than get in great shape. He's going to have to ball his arse off to stay and get paid. He's a likely candidate to get traded unfortunately.
Whole other side of the story sure. Not saying it's not likely he's gone perhaps for strategic roster building. But I'm rooting for him to blow up this year.
Randle has a lot to prove, but I can't think of many other better, young players who can play both the PF or C in small ball line-ups which I think we will be using quite often in the future. Because of this if Randle does explode this year we better think long and hard of trying to retain him.
I'm definitely rooting hard for Randle to be great this season, we all should be, we have no reason to want otherwise. Him being great this season is a win-win for us. Either it means we keep him and have a home grown talent, or it possibly allows us to trade him and dump the Deng contract. Win-win.
If we trade Julius it better be for someone coming in that is better for a (?) number of years than Julius is going to be in his prime or we screw the pooch. Should have a great idea of his ongoing improvement pattern / arc by the deadline.
I see what you're doing. Reverse jinxing Randle to the point that Kuzma gets all the minutes. You even threw Nance in there in a post. Obvious jinx is obvious.
Maybe he's so good we don't even want Lebron. I could roll with that. I would prefer that, but still in wait and see mode.
Thank you! I so wanted to say that above but did not for fear of mocking. That's my wet dream. And I hate water!
Everytime I think of the current players who have been around the last 3 years, I have a resentment towards them that I cant shake off. Ill comment about guys like Randle and Clarkson a month into the season. Right now, I feel like those two are the last of the lazy, content to losing crowd left on this team. A lot of me doesn't even want to look at them.
