All the s*** we get now will make our next championship that much sweeter. If we are punished I hope we bring up every other tampering case that goes on without anyone batting an eye.
would like for karma to come around and catch one of these "small market" teams red handed and see if there's any of these other small market team coming to defend each other lol
Not sure about being drunk, but if he was high and had a prostitute on his arm, he'd probably only get a slap on the wrist, like he was jaywalking or something.
Indiana should suffer a consequence for making a false accusation if nothing comes from it. Like, they have to convey their 2nd round pick to us or they lose their 1st Round Pick.
i'm guessing they had proof of contact before filing. i'm guessing lots of teams have had it, but nobody snitches until it's the lakers. i still think it's pretty lame that if they can prove magic called paul george's mom that we're in big trouble, but they let james harden negotiate a trade for chris paul with his gm and ownership's blessing. if they crack down on the lakers, i'd file tampering charges against the other 29 teams--i'm sure you can find instances for each. i'd love to see the nba argue in court (like they do in the media) that they selectively enforce tampering. the written policy is unequivocal. james harden is as guilty as magic.
I am a firm believer that Rob is a shark and I hope he acts like one if the results of the investigation are not in our favor. Gloves off.
I'm willing to bet their proof was the Kimmel interview and the PG agent leaking PG wants to come to the Lakers...that last tweet suggest they have nothing more and hoping the lawyers find out the rest.
Tampering! Someone file charges. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/heat-check/article168249157.html
Oh I'm aware it's not tampering, I can't help but point out how silly it is that players can say stuff like this but a team president can't make a joke on a talk show.
I think @abeer3 was being sarcastic. It is tampering. A player can not talk about another player joining their team (recruiting). That's why Draymond Green and the Warriors should've been punished when he texted KD after losing game 7 and saying they need him. But he got to go there. And win a title. But Lakers have a different set of rules.
Is that true? I thought players could say all they want and only management can't comment on other teams' players.
From ESPN article yesterday. Q: How does the NBA define tampering? MARKS: Under NBA tampering rules, no player, coach or management person may entice or induce a player under contract with another team. Tampering FAQ: How will NBA respond to Pacers' charges against Lakers? http://es.pn/2vWyt8j via @ESPN App http://es.pn/app
i'm generally not serious. and yes, the written policy prohibits players from contacting other players, too. they're listed along with the team officials. the league has come right out and publicly stated that they basically don't care about the players part, but man...if i got busted i would challenge this hard in legal proceedings. but i'm no lawyer. just seems like you're being really arbitrary in how you handle your own rules. i don't know of any organization that would allow this. you either enforce your rules as written or change your rules. you don't leave them on the books and selectively enforce portions. not if you plan to be able to punish infractions and go unchallenged.
Wowwww. I thought players talking to players was allowed because it happens all the time and nothing is done. LeBron, Wade and Bosh colluded to join in Miami. And I'm pretty sure Harden and CP3 have spoken to Melo about Houston. There's no way to police that. Hell I was joking about the Whiteside quote, but I guess maybe I wasn't wrong.
How the hell did Riley know to clear the books to be able to sign lebron and bosh without some tampering?
