I'm intrigued by Hart, but we got so little of him in the Summer League that it's hard to really know what he's got at this level. If he earns time in camp, I'd be fine with either a or b. I think Brewer slots in as our backup SF.
Magic pushing the right buttons. Comparing JC to Cooper as a challenge is genius. He is showing him the path to how he can remain here beyond the mid-season trade deadline. And if not, any positive improvements that come from this challenge will only beef up his trade value.
A few things Lonzo does do on the defensive end well are 1. Read passing lanes 2. Rebound I think he's got the size and athleticism to defend most guards, it's the effort that will be a problem.
tough to say on Aug. 2nd, but I too like the JC - Hart backcourt, but could also be happy with JC - Brewer. I believe that Hart can become a good defender but Brewer is already a decent defender who I trust in the kind of role if that's what we choose to do.
See I still think Kuzma may get in as backup SF. I know he'd be better at the 4, but we have a log jam at the 4-5. I think Luke and his coaches will know that they have to find minutes for Kuzma and the only way I think he can get consistent minutes on the floor is either at the 3 or 4. If its at the 4 then that means we're likely going small with Nance playing the 5. If we want to go a little bigger Kuzma at the 3, Nance at the 4 and Zu at the 5. I also just thought of this: Kuzma at 3, Deng at 4 (his only position he can really play now), and Nance at the 5.
to also add to this Lonzo has great hands. In the summer league game when ever he would help on another defender he always got his hands on the ball and disrupted the player. on ball defense has a lot of work but he's got the tool as you mention and bball IQ to figure it out in time for sure.
must suck for Randle and JC, knowing Magic making all these "challenges" to them but end of the day when/if you meet those challenges your reward is being traded
Randle needs to do this regardless of what we want. He's in a contract year and wants to show not only us but the basketball world he's for real.
Heard JC interview on Marcellus Wiley show... yeah someone needs to get him a few lessons in doing interviews. Oy Vey!
you just making assumptions, and not everyone can be Kobeque and eat/sleep/breath bball. So if you see Ball/Ingram out in the clubs during the season and they aren't performing up to par should we look to trade them too?
The real gem is at 3:00. If you don't want to watch the whole thing, that 30 sec bit is where I am at. No, it's not the "I want winners" part. Watch and you'll get it.
