Most improved player borderline all Star is what Ingram is going to be. I don't look at stats I look at the last month, especially that last game he played against kawhi. Kawhi who is one of the best defenders in our NBA couldn't stop Ingram. That's the magic-pushed Ingram I see plus better shot form and stronger physically.

Magic is just trying to put that seed in Ingram's head. When the GOAT has that much confidence in you, that has to be motivating.

Magic challenging Ingram and Zo is just a sign of how much he believes in their talent and I'm fine with that as a fan.

to piggyback off this, I see this comment a lot like the bodyfat % comment Magic made. If Ingram averages 16ppg but is assertive when he has the ball and the team shows significant growth, does anyone think Magic is dissapointed?

Also, when it gets late in the shot clock, who is going to be the most consistent in getting a decent look? I actually think with Ingram it's just a matter of confidence and aggression. If he continues to be a leader like he was in SL, I would be surprised if he didn't end up around 20ppg.

I mean..even Kobe didn't average 20 ppg until his third NBA season, and even then it was 19.9. You're asking a lot when you say 20 ppg or it will be a disappointment. I'm not against setting goals for the kids, but choose your words more carefully Magic.

Waaay too long estimate to 20 points for Brandon Ingram. IMO.

20ppg almost certainly isn't happening this year and if it does, we're going to be a playoff team likely.

I think 12-14ppg is more likely for Ingram. I look at his progression as being very similar to Giannis...look at how he progressed to what he is now and that's what I expect Ingram's career to look like.

I think Ingram will be around 12-16pts a game. 20 is a lot for him at this stage in his young career

    How so?

Couple players Ingram gets compared to: Antetokounmpo and Leonard.

Antetokounmpo just cracked 20ppg this past season (season 4)

    Leonard didn't reach 20ppg until season 5.

Brandon still needs to improve his 3 point shooting and FT% before he even gets close.

Magic is a business man. Always shooting for more than he is willing to accept. Good strategy.

Leonard had 2-3 scoring options in front of him and wasn't as developed offensively in his 2nd year as BI will be this year, who will be focal point 1 in this free flowing offense or 1A along with Lopez. If anything he will have better chance to get 18-20 a night this year alongside Lonzo than when PG and LBJ show up next year. Yes, and of course he needs to shoot better than the 1st half of last season skewing his numbers for the whole year. HE WILL. Book it.

Any news on the Ingram-Kobe workout? Ingram's going to take a huge step this next season I think.

Loved that! Just now seeing it. Entertaining commentary and good footage of BI working opponents last year. 2 spots on clip stood out to me most. 2:16 ... watch this several times. You can't tell me BI wasn't doing this from day 1 out there. At the start of the season he would bang with bigger guys trying to get to the rim. Jump into them. Of course getting his a** kicked and losing the physics battles more often than not. Not sure what point in the season, am guessing post all star break) the action at 2:16 is taking place, but watch Brandon in Kobe like fashion just bang on this guy backing him down, that outweighs him by 30-40 lbs. Moves him and scores on him decisively. That is damn impressive.

And LOL the guy doing the commentary here .... love the inflection in his voice and following measurements and point he makes .... when at 2:26 he just goes, " .... and he's so goddamned Big!"

There was a written article or link posted here last day and a 1/2, can't find it right now, with BI talking and answering questions that he mentioned his sessions with Kobe still to come and he was looking forward to it. Stackhouse still very much in his counseling circle as well. Told him why he was getting cramps among other good advice.

I love Stackhouse working with BI... If BI can get some of that stack Nastiness with learning from the mamba as well: thats a possible scary combo.

It is so great having Lakers Film Room around. He really does these well. His podcast with Tania Ganguli was great too. It's funny they both started off a little stiff with their voices, his sounding more like LFR here and then he hit this whole other even better conversational voice. Same with her.
